Hood Finds the Perfect River to Double Through Skreens Into the Chip Lead

Level 12 : 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante
Bryan Skreens
Bryan Skreens

One player was already all in and a substantial pot was brewing on the side between Bryan Skreens in early position and Benjamin Hood in the cutoff.

Skreens checked a {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} board over to Hood, who bet 14,000. Skreens check-raised to 40,000, and Hood called.

Skreens checked the {j-Hearts} river, and Hood quickly pushed his remaining 57,200 in the middle.

"That's the one card I didn't want to see!" Skreens exclaimed, standing up in response. He eventually made the call for most of his stack with {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}, but his premonition turned out to be spot on, as Hood rolled over {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a full house, and after the original all in player mucked his {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}, Hood earned a knockout and leapt to one of the biggest stacks in the room.

Hood Coolers One Out the Door

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

A player was all in from the hijack for his last 48,000, and Benjamin Hood was waiting with the mother of all hands in the big blind.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Benjamin Hood: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

The hijack could only solemnly nod as the {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop ended things two cards early, rendering the {2-Clubs} turn and {q-Spades} river moot.

Booth Fills Up For a Knockout

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Kristen Booth
Kristen Booth

Four players invested 5,000 a piece to see a {5-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop together. Action checked to Kristen Booth, who bet 15,000. The player next to act jammed for 25,600, and action folded back to Booth, who quickly called.

Opponent: {8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Kristen Booth: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Booth's opponent went with the open-ended straight draw, but it was Booth who improved on the {a-Diamonds}, {5-Spades} runout, rivering a full house for the knockout.

"Sorry man," Booth told her opponent after the hand, to which her opponent smiled and said, "Don't be sorry! You nailed it!"

Girouard Finds an Ace

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player raised to 4,500 from early position, and Drew Maras called in the cutoff. James Girouard three-bet shoved for 24,600 from the button, and the early-position player four-bet shoved for 50,000, chasing out Maras.

James Girouard: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}
Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}

Girouard didn't have to wait to hit the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts} flop, and held on the {5-Clubs} turn and {7-Hearts} river to earn the double.

"I folded king-queen," Maras said after the hand with a sigh.

Kauffman Keeps Firing

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

A player raised to 4,200 from early position, and action folded to Freeman Kauffman in the big blind.

"Re-raise, ten-thousand." Kauffman said, flicking out two 5k chips. The early-position player called.

Kauffman bet 3,000 on the {8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, and the early-position player called.

The {4-Spades} hit the turn, and Kauffman continued for 6,000. The early-position player spent a minute in the tank, then folded.

McMillen Continues Building

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Ron McMillen
Ron McMillen

WSOP Bracelet winner Ron McMillen raised to 4,800 from the small blind, and the big blind made the call.

The {7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop fell, and McMillen eyeballed his opponent's stack before betting 6,000. The big blind quickly folded, and McMillen paused, holding his cards, then elected not to show and took down the pot.
