With a few minutes left of Level 24, play has come to an end on Day 1 of the PokerStars 2020 SCOOP-24-M: $1,050 Super Tuesday SE with 72 players out of 1,105 entries making it through to the final day. The tournament originally had a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000 but earlier today PokerStars announced that they would increase the guarantee of several tournaments to total $95,000,000 over the whole series. And the Super Tuesday was one of them as the guarantee was increased to a whopping $1,250,000.

Taking the chip lead honors for Day 1 is a familiar name and face in the poker world: Mike "goleafsgoeh" Leah has collected 4,933,992 in chips for Day 2. The Canadian has won millions of dollars playing poker live and online already and probably won't mind another title to his already lengthy resumé with two SCOOP wins in 2019 and four in total over the years. Leah is followed in the chip counts by "Neanderthal4" (3,709,616), "sangnv" (3,551,245), Ariel "ArielBahia" Celestino (3,246,246), and "olle1FIN" with 3,200,727.

Other familiar names making it through to Day 2 include Scott "Aggro Santos" Margereson, Patrick "prepstyle71" Serda, Vlad "dariepoker" Darie, Rui "RuiNF" Ferreira, Arsenii "josef_shvejk" Karmatckii, Mike "SirWatts" Watson, Thomas "MarToMchat" Boivin, Luke "lb6121" Schwartz, Felipe "TheGrinderØ" Badotti, Alberto "alberto.m7" Meran, Flavio "flavioreis88" Reis, and Elias "SinKarma" Gutierrez.

Not everyone was that fortunate though, players like Vicent "gordon0410" Bosca, Leandro "leitalopez" Bustillo, Naoya "nkeyno" Kihara, Steven "SvZff" van Zadelhoff, Martin "M.nosbocaJ" Jacobson, Sven "SvenCalls" McDermott, Adam "adamyid" Owen, Leon "Flippetyflop" Louis, Anthony "GrindHeaps" Aston, and Joep "Pappe_Ruk" van den Bijgaart all managed to cash but not "bag".

Watson got the field to the bubble before the break when he eliminated "NukeTheFish!" with king-queen but it was "gaul17" who would really burst the bubble when he looked up "nilsef" who held king-queen. "gaul17" had ace-trey and turned a pair of aces to make sure everyone that was left had locked up $2,158. Unfortunately for "gaul17", the end of the day went a bit sour for them when they first doubled up Ferreira and then kept losing chips. They will be returning as the absolute short stack with 77,094 chips.

When the players return at 1 p.m. EST, they will finish Level 24 which has a small blind of 17,500, big blind of 35,000 and a running ante of 4,500. All players have already secured and received $3,183 for their results today but there's a lot more up for grabs as the winner will walk away with $199,127 and the SCOOP title. One more player will leave the tournament without a pay jump but they will all be battling it out hard on the final day and PokerNews will be there to witness it all for you. So make sure to return for all the action.
