Just under seven hours of action-filled play in Day 1 of the 2020 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) Event #75-L: $109 [6-Max, PLO Main Event], $500K Gtd) saw 6,126 entries drop down to the number of 875 required to make it into the money and finish play for the day. In total, those entries generated a prize pool of $612,600, surpassing the recently-raised guarantee by over 22%.

When the mark of 875 was reached and the tournament made it into the money, "pokerpædagogen" of Denmark was the one to find themselves atop the leader board with a stack of 718,888. "krihan" (648,585), "Stallfos" (636,476), "YYYeaHHH" (598,726), and "chris1903x" (596,373) round out the top five.

Just behind the top five includes three players of note: Denis "aDrENalin710" Strebkov (591,774), Tyler "wonderboy222" Goatcher (578,482), and Julian "jutrack" Track (569,598[/b] all will find themselves in the top 10 when Day 2 resumes on Monday.

Other notables to get through on the day include Rui "RuiNF" Ferreira (249,819), Robin "robinho" Ylitalo (245,480), Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph (210,775), Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson (174,379), Benny "RunGodlike" Glaser (154,592), and Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi (94,751).

PokerStars ambassadors Ben "Spraggy" Spragg and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis also took their shot(s) at this event, but neither were able to get much of anything going and were among the thousands to fall short of making the money in the tournament.

Three eliminations occurred on the final hand of the night, meaning 873 players will return on Monday at 1:05 p.m. ET to continue play with two minutes remaining in Level 18 (1,250/2,500). Twenty-minute levels will remain the norm for the rest of the tournament, and Day 2 will see a full slate of action until the final three tables are reached.

"$trateGema" Eliminated on the Bubble by "MooooNeeee2" To Reach End of Day 1 in SCOOP Event #75-L: $109 PLO Main Event

Action folded around to "MooooNeeee2" in the small blind and they raised the pot, opening to 7,500. "$trateGema" three-bet to 22,500, re-potting it and leaving themselves with just 4,500 behind. "MooooNeeee2" reraised and "$trateGema" called their remaining chips off to bring about cards being shown in preparation for the runout.

"$trateGema": {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
"MooooNeeee2": {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Spades}

"$trateGema" was ahead but would need to win the race in order to stay alive in the tournament. The flop {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Hearts} gave "MooooNeeee2" a pair of jacks but "$trateGema" still found themselves with a tremendous amount of outs. Unfortunately for them, the board bricked out as the turn {4-Spades} and river {j-Diamonds} left their draws dry and the pot was shipped to "MooooNeeee2" for their trip jacks, resulting in "$trateGema" being eliminated from the tournament in 876th place, bubbling Event #75-L and ending play for Day 1.

A recap of the day's action will be provided shortly.

"The Cooker" raised to 5,000 under the gun and received a call from "hneves182" on the button. "flow96x" also called in the small blind, as did "soumi7" in the big blind to take postflop action four ways.

The flop dropped {7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades} and action checked around to "hneves182" on the button, who bet 11,250. "flow96x" folded and "soumi7" check-raised all in for 23,600, just more than a minimum raise. "The Cooker folded and "hneves182" called.

"soumi7": {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
"hneves182": {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

"soumi7" had flopped an open-ended straight draw to go with their overpair of queens, but they ran into a flopped straight by "hneves182" and were unable to improve as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to result in their elimination from the tournament in 885th place, leaving just eight eliminations left in the day before play reaches the money and concludes for the night.

"gmcrafter" Gets River Value

Level 18 : 1,250/2,500, 0 ante
"gmcrafter"
"gmcrafter"

"gmcrafter" opened the action with a raise to 8,750 in the cutoff and was called by "Cottonbud07" in the small blind to take action heads up to a flop of {6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades}. "Cottonbud07" checked and "gmcrafter" made a continuation-bet of another 8,750. "Cottonbud07" called.

The turn was {q-Diamonds} and "Cottonbud07" checked again. "gmcrafter" bet another 24,750 and "Cottonbud07" called. The river fell {4-Diamonds} and "Cottonbud07" checked one final time. "gmcrafter" fired a third barrel of 48,000 and "Cottonbud07" went into the tank, activating their time bank to think about their decision. They eventually found a call and the hand went to showdown.

"gmcrafter" showed {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a rivered straight and took down the pot, chipping up to over 350,000 and leaving "Cottonbud07" with just under 67,000 as play nears closer to the finish of Day 1.
