Day 1 Completed

Level 24 : 17,500/35,000, 4,500 ante
SCOOP 2020
SCOOP 2020

More than half of Level 24: 17,500/35,000 with a 4,500 ante has been played, before Day 1 of the PokerStars 2020 SCOOP-79-M: $1,050 Super Tuesday SE has been ended. Out of the 937 total entries, there are 88 players still left in the field and they will contest for the SCOOP title tomorrow, during Day 2 of the event.

The chip lead honors went to Sami "Lrslzk" Kelopuro who managed to finish the day with a 3,580,257. Kelopuro is well-known for his cash game appearences in the nosebleed stakes, while he already has two SCOOP titles in the past, among which a Main Event title during 2011 SCOOP. His chip lead is secure enough, as "JBHInfinity" follows on second place with 3,052,674, more than half a million chips less than the leader. The Brazilian Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani rounds the top three stacks with 2,757,329.

Many other familiar names are still in the field such as Manuel "manuverd0n" Bardon, Luke "lb6121" Schwartz, Simon "Igorkarkarof" Pedersen, Connor "blanconegro" Drinan, Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos, Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson, Tomi "elmerixx" Brouk, Sylvain "caIcuIer_" Loosli, Michael "M_Acevedo" Acevedo, and Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov.

There were though a lot of big names that didn't manage to make it through Day 1. Among those that cashed but didn't bag are Marty "TheLipoFund" Mathis, Pascal "Päffchen" Hartmann, Hannes "SuchADegen" Speiser, Ramiro "ramastar88" Petrone, Paul "Fold Machiii" Dando, and Tony "RunLkMercier" Della Sciucca.

One of the most important parts of the game was the bubble play. It lasted for a long time, as there were a lot of short-stacks who were trying to squeeze into the money. A couple of them were forced all in from the antes and "FeelTh3Power" was the first who lost the all in against Drinan and Filatov. The two pros played a pot and in the end it was Drinan who won and sent the rest of the field into the money.

The tournament will resume on Wednesday, May 20th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time and the 88 finalists will make their run to the title. All players have secured the minimum payout of $2,356 but all eyes are upon the $164,398 prize of the first place, along with the SCOOP title. One more player will leave the tournament without a payjump, which is to $2,933 and there are still many players with less than ten big blinds. PokerNews live reporting Team will be on hand for all the coverage of Day 2, until a winner is crowned. Stay tuned for all the action.

"FeelTh3Power" Eliminated on the Bubble

"FeelTh3Power" had less than an ante and he was automatically all in from under the gun. Anatoly "NL_Profit" Filatov was on the next seat and raised to 60,000, with Connor "blanconegro" Drinan calling from the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Drinan check-called a bet for 39,461, with the two players creating a side-pot.

The {7-Diamonds} hit the turn and both active players checked.

The {9-Spades} completed the board on the river and Drinan led for 65,703. Filatov opted to raise to 330,000 and Drinan called with {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} after many seconds in the tank. Filatov opened {q-Clubs}{9-Spades} for an unsuccesful try to win the pot on the river and "FeelTh3Power" mucked his hand, as the last player to depart from the field empty-handed.
