PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker

After a thrilling Day 1, players are eager to return for Day 2 in the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event Low(SCOOP), set to kick off at 12:35 pm ET.

Late registration remains open until 12:30 pm ET, just before cards go in the air. As such, the field, and prize pool, continue to grow. With just over 90 minutes until play resumes, the field sits at a total of 21,057 entries, with 5,888 still with chips. All those entries have pushed the prize pool pass the guarantee of $2,000,000, up to $2,108,400. The money bubble will burst today, but exactly when payouts begin cannot be said until registration closes.

Play will resume at Level 18, with blinds at 900/1800 with a 225 ante. Levels today will last 15 minutes, with a five minute break every hour, 55 minutes past the hour. Today's play will conclude when just 160 players remain. Those 160 will bag their virtual chips to return to play tomorrow, May 30th, for Day 3, resuming at 12:30 pm ET.

Plenty of PokerStars Ambassadors could be spotted on the digital felt yesterday, including Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis and Ben "Spraggy" Spragg. However, it was Argentinian Alejandro "[Papo]AR" Lococo who truly shined amongst this group. Lococo won multiple monster pots throughout Day 1, maintaining a top 10 stack for much of the day, ultimately bagging in 36th place with 345,425. The chip leader from Day 1 comes from Belarus, the user "ShP89", who managed to secure 480,358 chips heading into Day 2.

Be sure to stay tuned into PokerNews for all the action from these thrilling four day Main Events. Coverage of the other SCOOP Main Events can be found in the PokerStars SCOOP Hub.
