Matt Cafarella Eliminated in 18th Place ($3,106)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Matt Cafarella
Matt Cafarella

Johannes Mueller raised all in for 90,000 from middle position and Matt Cafarella announced all in from directly behind. Everyone else folded, and the cards were tabled.

Mueller: {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Cafarella: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

Cafarella was in great shape until the dealer fanned the {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, shooting Mueller into the lead. The {2-Diamonds} and {4-Hearts} completed the board, and after the stacks were counted down Cafarella had a few thousand less than Mueller. He is our eithth place finisher in the Main Event.

Koppe Doubles Through Lemarquand

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Erik Lemarquand raised to 10,000 from the cutoff and Kai Koppe moved all in from the buton for 95,500 total. The blinds folded and Lemarquand called when action came back to him.

Lemarquand: {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Koppe: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Lemarquand jumped out into the lead when both players paired up on the {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop. Koppe retook the front place, however, when the {A-Hearts} hit the turn to give him two pair. The {8-Spades} finished the board and Koppe was able to double up to about 200,000.

Feijo Doubles

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Matt Cafarella opened with a raise to 12,500 from early position, and action folded over to Martin Feijo on the button. Feijo moved in for 54,000, and after getting a count, Cafarella called.

Feijo: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Cafarella: {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Cafarella was unable to spike a two-outer on the {9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} board, and Feijo doubled up.

Mark Bowman Bubbles

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Mark Bowman - Bubble Boy
Mark Bowman - Bubble Boy

On a flop of {2-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Mark Bowman moved all in for 46,000 and found calls from Tom Clayton and Brian McCormick. Clayton and McCormick checked it down as the {9-Diamonds} hit the turn and a third diamond fell on the river.

The all-in Bowman showed {A-}{Q-} for top pair with a queen kicker which was ultimately behind McCormick's {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for a diamond flush. McCormick scooped up the pot and burst the bubble in the process by sending Bowman to the rail. Players are now re-drawing for the final two tables. A full seating chart will be made available shortly.

Hall's hand held up through the {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board, and Iacavone was eliminated. We're now on the money bubble, with the top 18 players guaranteed at least $3,106!

River Saves Cafarella

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Andy Spears raised to 10,000 from early position and Matt Cafarella moved all in for 26,000 from middle position. Michael Iacovano then re-shoved from the blinds, and Spears got out of the way.

Cafarella: {A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Iacovano: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}

A small crowd gathered as the dealer rolled out a {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. The turn was the {2-Spades}, and Cafarella had three outs to save him on the river. Sure enough, the {9-Spades} arrived to save Cafarella from elimination.
