Koppe Doubles Through Cafarella

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Kai Koppe got his short stack of 47,000 all in before the flop against Matt Cafarella.

Cafarella: {A-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Koppe: {A-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Both players paired up when the flop came down {6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs} but Koppe retained his lead with a pair of jacks. Cafarella failed to improve on the turn ({2-Diamonds}) or the river ({10-Spades}) which meant that Koppe was able to double up. This hand crippled Cafarella who was left with just 30,000.

Blake Napierala - Eliminated
Blake Napierala - Eliminated

Blake Napierala lost a huge pot to Tom Clayton earlier in the day, and Clayton got the rest of his chips just moments ago. Napierala was all in for around 40,000 preflop with {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and in dire straits against Clayton's {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}, and the {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} rang true for Clayton.

Halat Busted by Salhab

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Budway Salhab raised to 8,000 from the cutoff and found a three-bet ship from Leon Halat for 31,000. Salhab mulled over the choice for a moment before dropping in a call and rolling over {Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

"You might be ahead," said Halat. "I only looked at a jack."

Halat rolled over {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} to show that Salhab was indeed ahead. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Halat was unable to improve to the best hand. He was eliminated from play and Salhab now has around 200,000 in chips.

Byczkiw Loses Flip, Then Busts

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Martin Feijo was all in for just under 50,000 with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} against Mark Byczkiw's {J-Diamonds}{J-Spades}. Byczkiw had just 12,000 behind, so this was essentially for his tournament life as well. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, giving Feijo top pair and the double. Byczkiw was sent to the rail three hands later.

Byczkiw Triples

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Travell Thomas opened to 8,000 and it folded around to Ryan Hall who three-bet to 22,000 from the button. Mark Byczkiw moved all in for 22,500 from the small blind and Thomas called. Hall called the additional 500 and the flop came {J-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}. Thomas checked and Byczkiw fired out a bet of an unknown amount. Thomas quickly released his cards, allowing the other two players to turn their hands over.

Byczkiw: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Hall: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Byczkiw was out in front with his flopped set of jacks and scored the triple up after the {5-Clubs} turned and the {3-Spades} rivered.
