Raimondi Crosses 200K

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With one player already all-in, Peter Raimondi and another player were going heads-up with the board showing {3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Raimondi bet, the other player moved all in and Raimondi snap-called.

Raimondi was ahead with the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades} for a set of eights and against the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for flush and straght draws, and the {5-Spades} completed the board the eliminate two players and vault Raimondi to 200,000.

This is the second day in a row Raimondi has held the chip lead deep in a Summer Slam Event. Last night he finished 14th in Event #2.

Kings Hold for Olshan

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Four players saw a flop of {9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Spades} and Jimmy Thomson moved all in for 23,000 from the small blind. Dave Olshan, who was the original preflop raiser, reshoved for 31,200, and the player in Seat 4 called all in for less. Olshan was ahead but he had a lot of outs to fade:

Olshan: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Thomson: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
Seat 4: {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

Travell Thomas heard the commotion and came over from the next table to watch as the {J-Clubs} turn and {8-Clubs} river completed the board, giving Olshan a huge pot.

"How did you hold," Thomas asked him.

"That was a miracle," Olshan replied.

Pachla Runs Kings Into Aces

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Alicia Pachla moved all in for her last 9,100 from early position and didn't seem pleased when she was called by the player in Seat 3.

Her intuition was right; Pachla tabled the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and her opponent had the {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}.

"I knew he had aces," she said as the dealer rolled out a {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board. Pachla fired multiple bullets today but fell short of the money.
