Aitchison Out; D'Agostino Increases Lead

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Scott Aitchison
Scott Aitchison

Kristan Mackiewicz opens for 3,500 and both Darren D'Agostino and Bob Kiehl call before Scott Scott Aitchison ships it in short from the big blind for a little over 10,000.

D'Agostino is the only caller with {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and is slightly ahead of Aitchison's {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. The board runs out {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} making D'Agostino a straight and sending Aitchison home early.

Stempien All Over 'Em

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

John Stempien has vaulted to a spot near the top of the counts thanks to a gift from one opponent who shoved with no pair and no draw other than the board on a {6-}{6-}{7-} flop into his pocket kings.

Needless to say, kings held and Stempien pushed over the 100,000-chip mark.

D'Agostino Does It

Darren D'Agostino
Darren D'Agostino

Darren D'Agostino limped under the gun before the player on the button made it 3,000. The big blind then shoved for some 9,900 and D'Agostino called.

The button promptly shoved for 47,000 total and after a minute or two in the tank, D'Agostino made the call with {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}. He was ahead of the button's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} and the big blind's {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The board rolled out {8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} with D'Agostino's jacks holding to scoop and vault him into a spot at the top of the counts.

Kiehl Killing It

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Bob Kiehl's dominance continues here at Seneca Niagara as he just busted another opponent and is putting some room between himself and the other contenders.

He flopped two pair holding {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} on a {K-}{K-}{7-} board. Then he made a full house when the turn came a {7-}. Holding {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, his opponent picked up a flush draw and all his money went in drawing dead.

Ain't No Mountain High Enough

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jeffrey Hobrecker has began to climb into contention here in Western New York, now sitting on 60,000 chips and counting.

He managed to add to his stack moments ago, pushing all in facing a 6,000-chip raise on a {10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{3-Clubs} board. After his heads-up opponent folded, Hobrecker flashed the {10-Clubs} and dragged a decent sized pot.

Bob Kiehl continues to run over his table and has just become the first player past the 100,000-chip mark.

He busted a short stack who shoved {a-}{k-Clubs} holding {10-Clubs}{9-Spades} when he made a pair on the flop and two on the turn.
