The 2016 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event Final Nine

The 2016 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Main Event final table is set, with local standout Dan Wagner holding a massive chip lead heading into Monday's fight for the title.

After two starting flights drew 300 entries, 57 players returned to play Sunday with their eyes on the money and payouts starting at 27th place.

Jefferey Hobrecker came in with a slight lead over fellow local star Alex Visbisky, but neither got too much going today. Hobrecker managed to make the money, but a bad run for Visbisky actually saw him go out on the bubble, calling off a river check-raise from Wagner, only to be shown quads.

For most of the day, young Veerab Zakarian was the man to beat, becoming the first player over the two-million chip mark and the overwhelming leader, until things started going south at the final two tables.

Zakarian held on to a spot in the final nine with a healthy stack, but got his aces cracked in the final hand of the night that ultimately sent Joseph [Removed:340] out tenth and vaulted Mark Allott into second in chips behind Wagner.

Wagner's lead only got bigger when he made quads again, this time sending David Olshan to the rail in 11th and entering the final ten, and ultimately the final nine, as the only player over two million in chips.

Jay Clark got short before the bubble, but turned things around to book a seat at the final table with a more-than decent stack, and Cameron Bartolotta came into the day in the bottom half of the counts, but stuck to a solid game plan to make it there as well.

Nicholas Potwora flirted with the lead for a while himself, making at least one great call and another incredible laydown late to ensure he has a healthy stack coming into play Monday. The rest of the final table includes poker hobbyist Brian Bowen, Maryland's Sean Gomez, and the colorful Peter Bogulski.

Play will resume at 12 p.m. local time Monday with the levels increasing to 60-minutes in length and a whole lot up for grabs. Not only will the winner earn $64,882 in prize money, but Seneca Niagara poker glory and a spot on the cover of CardPlayer Magazine as well. Plus, the top six finishers will all earn five-figure prizes.

PokerNews will have live coverage from the start of the final table until a 2016 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Champion is crowned so tune in at noon to catch all the action.

[Removed:340] Out; Official Final Table Set

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Joseph [Removed:340]
Joseph [Removed:340]

Joseph [Removed:340] open shipped from early position for less than 200,000 and after Mark Allott called from the small blind, Veerab Zakarian shoved the big blind.

It took a few minutes, but Allott eventually called all in for almost 400,000 more with the {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Zakarian looked good to score the double knockout with the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and [Removed:340] was in trouble with the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

With Allott calling for a six, the {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop came down, giving him one. The {8-Clubs} turn and {j-Clubs} river changed little and Allott dragged the huge pot, leaving Zakarian reeling.

[Removed:340] busted, and with the official final table of nine now set, the clock has been paused. The final table will resume play tomorrow beginning at 12 p.m. local time. Final table details and a recap are coming up.

Olshan Out 11th; Final Ten Set

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
David Olshan
David Olshan

Dan Wagner and David Olshan traded bets on an {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} flop, then Wagner bet another 190,000 on the {2-Diamonds} turn. Olshan called and Wagner shoved the {k-Hearts} river.

Olshan called off his last 350,000 with the {a-Spades}{7-Spades}, but Wagner had the other two deuces for quads.

With that they have moved to a final table of ten with Wagner in control.

Bowen Nearly Busts [Removed:340]

Brian Bowen
Brian Bowen

Joseph [Removed:340] open shipped 350,000 with then {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Brian Bowen called all in for a little less with the dominating {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

Bowen held on a queen-high board and [Removed:340] was left with peanuts. He doubled once to get back to six figures, but still sits in the danger zone one spot off the final table of ten.

Jay Day

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Jay Clark
Jay Clark

Jay Clark checked a {10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} board to the turn heads up with Veerab Zakarian and that's when the fireworks started.

Zakarian made it 85,000 and Clark put 100,000 on top of that with a check-raise. Zakarian called and when the river came the {6-Diamonds}, Clark shoved in for 350,000.

Zakarian snap-called with the {a-}{10-} but was beat, Clark had the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} for the full house. That puts Dan Wagner firmly in the lead now, with Zakarian and Clark in a close race for second.

Hero Calls

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Chris Molica
Chris Molica

Chris Molina shoved the old {a-}{q-} and Dan Wagner looked him up with the {a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} making three sixes on the {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts} board to bust him.

Meanwhile, on the other table, Joseph [Removed:340] jammed the river of an {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} board with 400,000 in the pot already, putting Nicholas Potwora to the test for his last 200,000.

He passed, making the hero call with two threes and winning the massive pot to shift spots on the leaderboard.

Joseph [Removed:340]
Joseph [Removed:340]

Don't hand the title to Veerab Zarkanian just yet. He shoved the button with the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Joseph [Removed:340] called off for 400,000 and his tournament life in the big blind.

[Removed:340] had the dominating {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and held to double through. Zarkanian still leads, but he's under two million again now.
