Johnson Out, Boutelle Joins Leaders

Level 17 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Kurtis Boutelle
Kurtis Boutelle

Kurtis Boutelle opened with a standard raise and Charles Johnson ripped it in from the blinds for 300,000.

Boutelle called with the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Johnson's tournament life was riding on the {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. The board rolled out {q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, taking Johnson out with it.

Boutelle now joins a three-way dead-heat for the lead with Chris Meyers and Blake Napierala.

Meyers Comes Back

Level 17 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Chris Meyers opened for 77,000 and Adam Foster jammed for close to 200,000 with the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

Meyers made the call with the {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}, flopped a king and the rest, including Foster, is history.

Following the hand, Meyers moved back over the one-million mark and into the lead again.

Napierala Edges Ahead

Blake Napierala

Blake Napierala defended his big blind against a Chris Meyers cutoff raise. Napierala check-called bets of 50,000 and 80,000 through the turn on an all-diamond {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} board.

The flush was complete on board after the {7-Diamonds} river came down and both players checked. Napierala happend to have the {5-Diamonds} in his hand and took the pot down, edging into the chip lead over Meyers.

Salhab Soars

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Bud Salhab
Bud Salhab

One short stack shoved in and found a call before Bud Salhab pushed in, having them both covered. The original caller did so again, putting his tournament life on the line with the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

The shorty had the {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Salhab had the best of it with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. The board ran out {6-Hearts}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{a-Spades} and Salhab made Broadway, sent two players home and climbed up near the top of the counts.

Nablo Out, Redraw

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Jason Nablo shipped short with the {a-Spades}{5-Spades} and Chris Molica called with the dominating {a-}{k-}.

There was a five in the window and a king right behind it. The rest of the board bricked out and Nablo busted. With that, 20 players remain and they are redrawing for seats at the final two ten-handed tables.

The Dinner Bell Rings

Level 15 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

With 21 players remaining, the 2016 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam $1,000 Deep Stack High Roller is now on a 30-minute dinner break.

When play resumes at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time, Chris Meyers will come in with the big lead.

Parlatore Dominates Nablo

Level 15 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Maria Parlatore open-shoved for 120,000 and Jason Nablo looked her up from the small blind with the {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Parlatore claimed to have only seen one, and revealed the dominating {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. She held on a {2-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} board to double and leave Nablo short.

Meyers Extends

Level 15 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Big stack Chris Meyers opened with the {3-}{7-} and the big blind defended.

Meyers flopped a pair of threes and led out for a little more than a third of the big blind's dwindling 150,000-chip stack. The big blind jammed with the {9-Spades}{10-Spades} for a flush draw and two overs. Threes held after two bricks on the turn and river, and as the big blind hit the exit, Meyers extended his lead.
