Shaw Without Showdown

Level 15 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Steve Shaw
Steve Shaw

Blake Napeirala made it 32,000 and Tom Mistretta and Steve Shaw came along from the blinds.

Mistretta checked the {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and Shaw bet 30,000. Only Napierala called. The {j-Spades} turn saw Shaw bet another 30,000 and Napeirala raise to 80,000. Without much hesitation. Shaw called and the {a-Diamonds} river was revealed. Shaw fired out 85,000 and Napierala let it go.

Fireworks On The Flop

Level 14 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Three-handed on a {k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop, Blake Napierala checked, Tom Mistretta led for 30,000 and Steve Shaw came over the top, making it 67,000.

Napierala check-raised, bumping it to 200,000 total and Mistretta mucked. Shaw talked to himself for a while before folding, showing the {a-Clubs}.

Meyers' Million

Level 14 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Chris Meyers
Chris Meyers

Jeff Hall bet 35,000 on the turn of a {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{a-Diamonds} board, heads-up with Chris Meyers.

Meyers fired back, raising to 80,000 and Hall called. On the {j-Clubs} river, Hall checked and Meyers bet 225,000. Faced with a decision for his tournament life, Hall called, and mucked when Meyers turned over the {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

After the hand, Meyers' stack bloated to over one-million chips and he continues to set the pace.

Tighe Out, Shaw Up

Level 13 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Pat Tighe spread chips all around the table before getting short and shoving the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Rob Bourkney raised behind and Steve Shaw called on the button, creating a side pot.

Bourkney shoved the {a-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop and Shaw tank-called with the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}, out front of Bourkney's {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The {4-Hearts} turn and {a-Spades} river changed nothing, Tighe hit the rail and Shaw doubled through.

Meyers Rides Again

Level 12 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Chris Meyers
Chris Meyers

Chris Meyers kept climbing back into contention and has now moved back into the lead.

The button opened to 19,000 and Meyers three-bet the small blind, making it 54,000. The big blind folded and the button shipped for 200,000. Meyers made the easy call with aces and held against {a-}{j-} to become both the first player past 600,000, and 700,000, at the same time.

Boutelle Doubles Through Ciffa

Level 12 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Kurtis Boutelle opened with a raise and Joe Ciffa three-bet the button to 55,000. Boutelle four-bet shoved for 129,000 more and without the big tank, Ciffa called it off with the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Boutelle had the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} and it held on the {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} board to give him the double up.

Ciffa dusted the rest off a few hands later getting it in with two faces against an ace and failing to improve
