Hall Passes

Level 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jeff Hall
Jeff Hall

James Miller opened up with a raise and Buffalo, NY's Jeff Hall called from the small blind with the {6-Spades}{9-Spades}.

The big blind called as well, and when Hall flopped top two on a {5-}{6-}{9-} flop, the two of them got it all in. Miller got out of the way and the big blind had flopped a straight, holding the {7-}{8-}.

It didn't look good for Hall until the river {9-} made him a full house.

Shah Breaks Kuhlmann

Level 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Jon Shah came in with a raise and Dietrich Kuhlmann shipped about a third of a starting stack behind him.

It folded back to Shah and he snap-called with the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Kuhlmann's tournament life was riding on the {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} and he picked up some outs on the {6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop.

The {a-Clubs} turn made Shah a set, however, and Kuhlmann said goodbye following the {9-Spades} river

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Pat Tighe
Pat Tighe

The ever dangerous Pat Tighe has moved up to the top of the counts after a double knock-out sent his stack soaring.

He had grinded it up to 180,000 when he picked up two kings and came in with a raise to 4,000. One player shoved for 27,000 behind and another flatted before Tighe pushed. That player called all in and Tighe's kings held against tens and {a-}{q-}.

Molica Boats Up, Leads

Level 5 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Chris Molica
Chris Molica

Chris Molica has moved up to the top spot on the leaderboard after boating up in a massive hand.

He called with queens in a four-bet multi-way pot, then flopped top set on a board with two spades. Eventually he got it in against a player holding the nut flush draw, and although a spade turned, it paired the board, giving him a full house.

Molica's opponent had an out to a royal flush, but whiffed the river.

High Rollers Ride On

Level 4 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Coming off a 26th-place finish at the 2016 World Series of Poker $111,111 High Roller for One Drop for $166,212, local high roller Randy Pfeifer is splashing around here at Seneca.

He made it 3,900 after one limp and got two callers going three ways to a {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop. After one check, Pfeifer continued for 9,200 and only Chris Molica called in position. Both players checked the {q-Hearts} turn, but Pfeifer sent in a 21,000-chip bet on the {9-Spades} river.

Molica essentially clicked it back, making it 51,000 and Pfeifer tanked it out for a minute or two before tossing his hand in the muck. Molica showed the {10-Spades} on his way up the leaderboard.

Royale With Cheese

Level 4 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Tom Mistretta
Tom Mistretta

Seneca Niagara tournament boss Rick Block opened for 2,500 and got six callers. He fired 9,000 at a {j-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop, and only Tom Mistretta looked him up.

Block fired another 24,000 on the {2-Spades} turn, but Mistretta continued to play sheriff. Finally, on the {10-Spades} river, Block pushed all in.

Mistretta snapped called all in for 47,000 with the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, having flopped the Royal Flush. Block had run the {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} into the nuts and although he was left with about 11,000, the multiple Seneca Niagara Main Event title holder hit the rail soon after becoming the day's first casualty.

Parlatore On Top

Level 3 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Maria Parlatore
Maria Parlatore

Maria Parlatore has jumped into the early lead, effectively doubling up already after dragging a massive Level 2 pot without showdown.

She limped in under the gun, then joined four others in calling when one opponent made it 2,000 preflop. The {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} flop checked to the original raiser and he continued for 2,000. Dave Lisacchi bumped it to 8,700 from the small blind and Parlatore raised to 20,000. Lisacchi made the call.

She called a 25,000-chip Lisacchi lead on the {j-Diamonds} turn, then, when he checked the {k-Diamonds} river, she pushed all in. Lisacchi let it go.
