Luck Of The Draw

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

The {a-Clubs} got exposed by the dealer accidentally as she was pitching it to Scotty Gaddi.

He was given another card and when it came to him, he made it 3,000. One player called before it got to Chris Gras in the big blind and he shipped it for around 20,000.

Gaddi made the call and turned over the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. Gras had the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Not only had Gaddi been re-dealt a monster, but he could breath a little easier knowing one of Gras' outs was gone.

Gras found no help from the {10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Spades} board and Gaddi has double starting now with Gras on the rail.

Daydream Believer

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Budwey Salhab
Budwey Salhab

Budwey Salhab was game when the player in the cutoff raised it up blind and told him to make the call without looking in the big blind.

After they checked the {9-}{9-}{8-} flop Salhab had to look. He peeked down at the {9-}{5-} and couldn't believe his luck. The cutoff looked as well and made it 4,000 on the {k-} turn.

"You won't believe this," the cutoff said, before Salhab clicked it back to 8,000. The cutoff called and the river came the {5-}. Having blindly backed his way into a full house, Salhab slid out a value bet. The cutoff paid off with the {j-}{9-}.

In a hand that had to be seen to be believed, both played blind squirrel to the turn, but only one found the nut on the river.

Three High Like A Boss

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
James DiPasquale
James DiPasquale

One straight has straightened everything out for James DiPasquale today.

Down to 24,000, DiPasquale made the nut straight to drag a massive four-way pot. Things have gone even more smoothly ever since. In fact, he'll take the chip lead into a color-up break coming up at the end of the level after another fortunate spot.

This time he turned an open ender with a pair of jacks and got it in against jacks up. He hit a better two pair on the river and felted this foe to push up to 160,000.

However, he is having a tough time with Maria Parlatore at the other end of the table.

"He can't be at me in a pot," she said.

"Not with three-high I can't," he replied.

Given, it's tough to win with three high, but there has to be some history there we are not privy to - or likely want to be.

Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Tilted when Alan Findlay bluffed him off a set of aces early, Art Demmerley swore he'd get his revenge.

Some four hours later, he did. Demmerley claims he settled down and forgot about it an hour ago, but was pleased as punch when he turned a flush against Findlay's flopped set.

They got it in with one to come and Demmerley's flush held to send Findlay to the rail.

There are a glut of others with 65,000 in chips around the room, but none look more satisfied with it than Demmerley right now.

Brian Coughlan
Brian Coughlan

Onward and upward took on a different trajectory for John McCauley moments ago.

He flopped a flush with the {7-Spades}{8-Spades} on a {j-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} board. He even had the open-ended straight flush draw.

The problem was he missed that, and Liverpool, NY's Brian Coughlan had flopped a set of jacks and went runner-runner eights to make a full house.

McCauley lost roughly half his stack in the hand and Coughlan's the chip leader now.

It appears the two-hour drive up from Warren, PA was worth it for John McCauley.

He's sitting on six figures now after flopping a set of queens against one overzealous opponent with two jacks in the hole. They got it in with the jacks drawing all but dead and ultimately the set held.

It has been onward on upward from there and McCauley is now among the chip leaders here in Level 7.

Ray Williams
Ray Williams

'Buffalo' Ray Williams' day started off in Seat 2 on Table 17 and things only went downhill from there. He couldn't buy a hand and busted out in short order.

Then he hit the cage to reenter, drew Seat 3 on Table 17, and got hit by the deck from the jump.

Williams four-bet kings and took down a huge pot without a sweat when he got four callers preflop and four folders post. He's spiked a couple of sets and, truth be told, has been enjoying his new home just one seat over from his old one.

Williams apparently likes winning, as it's a whole lot more fun than losing.
