Just 24 players remain from the 170 entries the fourth and final flight for the 2017 Western New York Poker Challenge's opening event drew in Niagara Falls on Saturday evening.

John Stempien lost his mind and virtually all of his 200,000 chip stack three-barrell bluffing it off to Dietrich Kuhlman in the last few hands of the night and it will be Kuhlman taking the lead out of this last heat.

Stempien will bring a handful of big blinds and likely a hangover to the table tomorrow. Kuhlman joins the leaders of a pack of 96 from all four flights, heading to the playdown to a winner Sunday.

The chase to the money will kick off at 12 p.m. with plans to pay 63 spots.

The full payout details will be released before play. However, we can tell you they are playing for pieces of a guarantee-slaughtering $160,617 prize pool. First prize will be $36,139 and a min cash worth $578.

Mark Allott has almost 300,000 in chips coming out of the third flight and will take the overall chip lead and his lucky charms into play tomorrow. Nine out of the top ten are all over 200,000 and in the thick of it. Plus, with this many left it's anybody's ball game.

It's all on the line in Niagara Falls Sunday. Check us out tomorrow for continuing coverage of the opening event at the 2017 WNYPC.
