Bonani Wins a Classic Coin Flip

There was a raise to 1,600 in early position and Gustavo Bonani three-bet to 3,500 from the cutoff. The small blind splashed in a four-bet to 15,000 and the action folded back to Bonani who moved his last 19,400 chips into the middle. The small blind called and the cards were tabled.

Lincoln Lau limped in from under the gun and a player in middle position made a large raise to 4,300. The action folded back to Lau who opted to see a flop of 7♣5♥2♦.

Lau started with a check and his opponent made a bet of 6,000. Lau check-raised all in for 27,200 and his opponent asked for a count before sending his cards to the muck.

On the next hand, Andressa Paes found herself all-in and at risk for around 13,000 with A♦K♥. She was up against Q♥J♥ but a king on the flop put Paes well out front in order to double up.

Leonardo Boen raised it up to 1,200 in the hijack and was faced with a three-bet from the big blind which he called. The flop came Q♠J♦9♦ and the big blind led out with a bet of 4,000. Boen jammed all in for around 13,000 and his opponent quickly called.

Boen flopped top pair and a flush draw but was up against an over pair. The 7♣ on the turn changed nothing but the 2♦ on the river gave Boen a flush to score a double up.

There was a raise to 1,500 from the cutoff and Bianca De Souza reraised to 5,000 from the small blind. Her opponent called and the dealer spread the flop of J♣10♥2♥.

De Souza continued with a bet of 4,000 and her opponent called to see the 4♣ on the turn. De Souza used a time bank before checking it over to her opponent who checked it back.

The 5♦ hit the river and De Souza checked once more. Her opponent shoved all in for just over 11,000 and De Souza deliberated for a moment before calling. Her opponent tabled K♣Q♥ for a missed straight draw while De Souza held 9♠9♥ for the only pair.

After a couple of preflop raises, Lukas Robinson got his short stack of around 5,000 in the middle against Deniz Anselmo. Robinson had the goods with A♣A♦ and was up against the 10♠10♣ of Anselmo.

However, the dealer fanned the flop of 10♦7♣7♦ and Anselmo took the lead with a full house. The J♣, J♥ runout was no help to Robinson who headed to the registration desk for a possible re-entry.
