Tan Out Against Tan

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

John Clyde Tan was all-in and at near risk with pocket kings against the AK of AJ Acdal. The board ran out A1082J and the suited ace put a major dent into Tan's stack. Acdal doubled for 239,500 and that left his opponent on fumes.

Tan was then all-in for the last of it with J10 against the QQ of Diana Tan. The larger stack prevailed on the K77108 runout.

Tan Takes From Ampatuan

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Badrudin Ampatuan bet the 962 flop for 25,000 and was called by Diana Tan to then use a time bank and bet the 2 turn for another 45,000, which Tan called once more. The 8 on the river was then checked through and Ampatuan revealed the A3 for a busted flush draw.

Tan had that beat with the 77 and nearly closed the gap to Ampatuan.

Five Qualifiers from Day 1e

Level 18 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Out of a field of 39 entries, only the top five finishers qualified from the turbo heat 1e which just concluded with the elimination of John Costiniano on the bubble. Hyunsik Nam bagged up a monster stack of 815,000 which is good enough for second place overall so far albeit not including the still ongoing penultimate flight 1d.
