Gavin Sardini had played a lot of hands early on and that initially paid off. He even got Didier Mery to fold when betting all streets of a J♠4♥2♠2♥7♥ board without disclosing his cards.

However, that all came to a crashing end when he plummeted to a short stack and was then knocked out by a rivered nine-high straight. Below are some updated counts of players on his former table.

Monica Rosie checked the 6♥2♠2♣J♥ turn and then called a bet of 3,200 by Eli Mazor for 3,200. Rosie checked again the 8♥ on the river and Mazor pushed all-in for 17,000 effective.

Rosie sigh-folded and Mazor asked "can I show her but nobody else?" He moved the cards towards the muck already but before collecting the pot, flashed the 5♠3♥ for a bluff while Rosie claimed to have folded pocket tens.

Down to a shorter stack, Rosie busted soon after.

Four players limped in and Lee Thaver then squeezed to 1,700 from the small blind. Only Gavin Sardini called and Thaver fired a bet of 5,500 on the J♣10♦7♥ flop, which Sardini called.

Thaver bet another 17,000 on the A♥ turn with just 9,000 behind. Sardini tank-folded and was shown the Q♠Q♣ by his opponent, briefly exposing his J♥.

"Phew, that could have been a short day for me. I have to stay aggressive and fire again, the small blind is the chicken position," Thaver exclaimed.
