Pillay Gets Shorter

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alvin Pillay had lost more than half of his stack throughout many pots and limped from under the gun, Rajeev Poonhath did so from the small blind and Russel Wheatley checked in the big blind. On the A99 flop, only Pillay check-called a bet of 10,000 by Pillay.

They checked down the Q turn and 5 river for Pillay to win the pot with the A7.

Still Three Away From the End of Day 1b

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Saurabh Gulati was all-in with A10 against the 76 of Dhinesh Soopramanien and had many outs to dodge affter the J95 flop. The J turn and 5 river kept Gulati in the mix.

And the next all-in showdown one table over brought no seat open either, as Rajeev Poonhath scored a very healthy double off Stephen Courtney to change the tides once more. There are still 22 players left and 19 of them will advance.

Wheatley and Kramer "Back to Square Now"

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Russel Wheatley was all-in for 128,000 with the KQ and needed help, as Darren Kramer looked him up with the AQ.

On the K82 flop, Wheatley took the lead and Kramer let out a brief "fuck man". The 5 turn gave Kramer a lot more outs but the 4 river was not among them, as Wheatley doubled once again to continue his cinderalla story.

"I needed that double up, now we are square," Wheatley told Kramer.

Horgan Is Having A Ball

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Colin Horgan
Colin Horgan

The action on table 15 has been exhilarating, and Colin Horgan has been at the centre of most hands chatting up a storm. He even clashed with Matthew Whitelaw in a larger jack-high board containing two clubs, with Horgan tempted to call the river bet by his opponent but mucking and exposing the Q.

Whitelaw showed 64 for a bluff and Horgan laughed it off. They are both gunning for the chip lead but several other players have a chance to top the leaderboard for tonight.

Brauer Busts After Clash With Courtney

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Ryan Brauer
Ryan Brauer

With two spades until the turn and the K making an appearance on the river, Stephen Courtney check-called for 50,000 out of the big blind. His opponent was Ryan Brauer, who flipped over the A10 for a bluff with the nut flush blocker.

Courtney showed 84 and Brauer sighed in agony.

He was then forced all-in two hands later with Rajeev Poonhath in the small blind and Alvin Pillay coming along. They checked the KJ8 flop, invested the minimum on the 7 turn and checked the 5 river.

Poonhath showed J3, Brauer flashed the Q first and peeled the 2 only to bust.

In the meanwhile, Colin Horgan has been terrorising table 15 to nearly close the gap to chip leader Matthew Whitelaw.

Updated Counts Table 14

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Werner Smit has been bleeding chips and lost nearly half of his stack as of lately, among others check-folding the 863 flop when Jaryd Jardien bet 22,000. Soon after, he bet the 9755 turn for 15,000 from the big blind and Dhinesh Soopramanien folded.

Saurabh Gulati then jammed into Gilbert Tin Fook, who folded and was shown ace-queen.

Brauer Doubles Through Kramer

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Alvin Pillay opened to 10,000 and Darren Kramer three-bet to 27,000 in the next seat. It folded to Ryan Brauer who moved all-in for the last 38,000. Pillay folded and joked "at least I will get to see what you do," towards Kramer, who indicated a "Merry Christmas" to Brauer before tossing in the additional chips.

Ryan Brauer: QQ All in
Darren Kramer: 77

There was no upset on the A9262 board and Brauer doubled.

Gani Gone Against Wheatley

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Muaaz Gani
Muaaz Gani

Muaaz Gani flipped with ace-jack against the 33 of Russel Wheatley, who had previous doubled through him.

The board ran out J863K and it was another roller coaster sucker punch on table 12, sending Gani to the rail.

"Soon you gonna have the 212 thousand from your all-in with pocket sixes," Darren Kramer joked. After that referenced hand, Wheatley had dropped to only 2,000 but is still in the mix now.
