Fata Makes a Move Against Akinnusi

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Mario Fata raised to 3,000 on the button and both blinds called. On the QJ8 flop, it checked to Fata and he bet 2,500. Only Tim Akinnusi in the small blind check-called.

Akinnusi then check-called the A turn for 7,000 before the Q river completed the board. He checked again and Fata bet 30,000 with 500 chips behind. The clock ran down to near zero and Akinnusi folded.

Soon after that, Remy Murcia opened to 3,000 and two players including Fata called. Akinnusi jammed for 47,500 in the cutoff and everyone folded.

Kramer Escapes on the River

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Darren Kramer advanced with a shorter stack on Day 1b and is currently trying to get through with more. He had not succeeded in running up a stack yet when he was all-in with AJ versus A9. There was a nine on the flop but the J river saved Kramer.

Some of those less fortunate can be found below.

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the K43J turn, Howard Lipman bet 5,000 out of the big blind. The raise to 16,000 by Cliton Taliwanth followed and Lipman reluctantly folded.

Taliwanth showed his AQ with the words "I got a bit naughty there ... I will play normal now."

"What is normal?" Lipman grinned back.

October Eliminated by Mouton

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Caleb October
Caleb October

Caleb October had been nursing a short stack for an extended period and ultimately got them in against the hyper aggressive Jaco Mouton. It was bad news for October with the 1010 as Mouton had a monster this time with the AA.

The 7658K runout brought no help and October was knocked out at the end of November ... err the end of the registration period for Day 1c.

Stojic Doubles Through Sardini

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Gavin Sardini check-jammed the J62 flop and Djordje Stojic eventually called all-in from the next seat for the 24,500 he had behind.

Djordje Stojic: AK All in
Gavin Sardini: QJ

"Back doors," another player at the table remarked and the 4 turn indeed gave Stojic a flush draw. Instead, it was the K that fell on the river and knocked down Sardini's stack.
