Joey Weissman knocked out Terry Brookes to build his stack further and Ahmed Karrim followed suit one table over.
In a preflop contest, Ryan David Anderson was all-in for around 15 big blinds with A♥Q♦ against the A♦K♦ of Karrim. The kicker played on the A♠J♦8♣8♠2♥ and Karrim notched up another elimination to leave the table five-handed.
Defending champion Ahmed Karrim has been adding chips to become one of the bigger stacks in the room. On the river of a heads-up blind battle with Max Deveson, he bet 35,000 on the Q♦Q♥3♠3♦10♦ board. Deveson used one time bank extension and then called, but mucked versus Q♠9♥ for a full house.
Ryan David Anderson then chopped in the next hand with the table chip leader when both had a jack-high straight on the turn.
Fast forward one hand, Kumi Pather three-bet jammed for 56,000 and Karrim called as the initial raiser.

Jacobus De Nysschen had started the day with only 12 big blinds and doubled once. He then got it in against Adrian Andritz and needed some help with 8♠8♣, as Andritz had that crushed with the K♣K♦.
The J♣10♦5♠9♣7♦ runout came to the rescue as De Nysschen hit a jack-high straight on the river.

Appel showed K♣10♦ for a busted gutshot and SM doubled with the A♦6♥ for trips aces.
"I thought he had less," Appel concluded.

Rajeev Poonhath had lost a big portion of his stack fo Hennie Appel early on and was then all-in with a short stack of only 51,000 against Christopher Dean. His A♦6♦ needed help against 9♦9♠ and the Q♦10♠6♠3♦2♦ board delivered the double via flush.
In a battle of the blinds with SM soon after, both made two pair to the J♠7♠2♥6♦ turn. The 6♠2♣ of Poonhath in the big blind were in trouble against J♣7♣ and the 4♦ river confirmed the double for the Sultan of Swings.
