The 5♦ turn saw Pather lead for 8,500 and Mulji called after using one time bank. Heads-up to the K♦ river, Pather now bet another 20,000. Mulji mulled it over for a short while and eventually called, but couldn't beat the A♥A♦ of Pather.

Former chip leader Panayiotis Giannakopoulos was seen on his way to the rail but he had reason to celebrate soon after, as his father Costa Giannakopoulos won the ZAR50,000 High Roller in heads-up against Gavin Sardini.

On Giannakopoulos' former table, Rudolf Fourie jammed a three-way flop of 10♣9♦5♠ for 39,700. Jamie Vilela reluctantly folded and later showed a nine while Stephen Courtney also let go.

The next table over saw a flop of 9♥8♥6♠J♣ on which Cliton Taliwanth in the big blind jammed for just 9,700. Kinesh Pather reluctantly folded and both showed a seven first. Taliwanth ended up revealing his 7♥5♦ for the flopped straight while Pather mucked Q♦7♦.

Elaine Pfister got her recently shrinking stack in with the A♣Q♥ and had a classic flip against Rajeev Poonhath with the J♠J♣.

The A♠7♦6♦ flop improved Pfister to the top pair and she remained ahead on the 6♠ turn. However, the twist in the story followed with the J♦ river as Poonhath spiked the two outer.

"That was nice," he grinned in table chat while Pfister asked back "what was nice?" albeit with a smirk on the face.

Nic Ioannoy raised to 1,600 and Rudolf Fourie then jammed for 36,100 one seat over in the hijack. Henk Wiese opted to call on the button while Ioannoy folded and exposed the K♣5♣.

Fourie had previously jammed for around 100 big blinds two levels ago and flashed pocket eights, while Ioannoy had folded K♦Q♥.

This time, it was no flip as Fourie was well ahead with Q♣Q♦ against the A♥10♣ of Wiese.

On the K♥Q♥6♣ flop, Fourie improved to a set and the 8♦ turn changed nothing whatsoever. Wiese only had four outs and indeed spiked the J♣ on the river to leave Fourie fuming, as he banged the fist on the table in disgust before storming off.
