Chad Moolman raised to 8,000 and Jaco Mouton then three-bet big to 200,000 on the button. The big blind sigh-called all-in for 27,500 and Moolman folded when he admitted to be "his worst hand" since re-entering, exposing the A♥10♦.

The Q♠5♠5♣3♥A♠ runout delivered the ace on the river.
Kevin Boyer was covered by another short stack when he got it in with the A♥Q♠. That was flipping versus 7♥7♦ while the third player in the hand had the A♣J♣. On the K♣7♣5♠K♦Q♥ board left Boyer drawing dead on the turn.
The same short stack then moved tables while Joggie Aucamp chipped up significantly.

While the money bubble in the ZAR 50,000 High Roller is near, Day 1a of the Main Event has reached the end of level eight. Only one further level will be played for tonight and all survivors then bag up their chips for Day 2 on Saturday. Some 78 players out of 120 entries remain.
In the last hand before the break, Carrie Feinauer pushed all-in for 61,500 and was called by Daniel Habib.

The 8♦ turn was a blank but Feinauer and her rail exploded when the 5♣ river completed her gutshot.
Yoni Lipshitz raised to 4,000 in the hijack and was called by Jedd Kossew on the button as well as Cliton Taliwanth in the big blind, who had a short stack behind. On the J♠7♦6♣ flop it checked to Kossew who bet 4,500. Taliwanth called only for Lipshitz to check-raise to 17,000 in order to force out both opponents.
Taliwanth had some 12 blinds after the hand and bowed out shortly after.
On the tail end of a A♥K♦5♥J♠10♥ board, Joggie Aucamp fired a large bet of 63,000. Mark Wright gave it some consideration before he called and Aucamp rolled over the 9♥2♥ for a flush.
"Well done," Wright replied and exposed his losing A♦K♠ for two pair.
Alan Jung raised to 5,000 and then called all-in when Kevin Boyer jammed the marginally covering stack.

The 10♣4♣3♦10♠ turn provided some possible split outs but the 5♠ river secured the double of Jung for 73,000.
Hanre Retief was standing in line at the registration desk perhaps to jump last minute into the Main Event satellite which is on the add-on break right now.
"How bad was it," the live reporting team asked and Retief replied "very bad, you can't even write about it," he joked and then recalled the action while showing a picture of the cards and board.
According to Retief, he three-bet preflop and was called by Joggie Aucamp who then called a bet on the 8♥4♦2♥ flop before also looking up Retief's shove on the 6♠ turn.

The river was the 4♠ for the sucker punch.
Aucamp was then spotted in action at the same table. He check-called bets of 5,000 by Mark Wright on the K♠J♠5♠A♣2♥ turn and river. Wright announced a king first and then flashed his K♦J♦ which was actually two pair. That beat the A♠8♦ of Aucamp.
"I stayed in for the spade," Aucamp mentioned.
