Multi-Way to the 7♦7♣2♣ flop, Lory Dugast bet 15,000 and Michele Lodi-Fe raised to 55,000 with both players in the blinds. Daniel Brauer called the raise and then folded when both opponents moved all-in thereafter.

The 8♦ turn and Q♣ river changed nothing and Ledresseur was doubled to bow out in this huge pot.
Alexandra Müller raised to 5,500 with the A♥8♥ and was called by Marko Nortje in the small blind with the A♠7♦ and Cliton Taliwant, who defended the big blind with J♠6♠. They checked to the 9♥8♦7♠2♠ turn on which Nortje led for 13,000 with his third pair. Taliwanth called with the straight and flush draw, as did Müller with her top pair.
All checked the K♦ on the river and Müller won the pot.
Sunelle Kirstein was able to grind her way back well above the starting stack and she was then involved in four-way action to the A♦10♣7♥ flop. Hennie Matthee as the under-the-gun player bet 20,000 and she raised to 50,000 on the button. Both blinds folded and her opponent called.
On the 8♥ turn, Kirstein moved all-in when checked to her and she was called for the last 81,000.
Kirstein tabled her 7♦7♣ for a set and Matthee instantly said "oh that's nice, well done" before flipping over his A♥K♠. The 9♦ river became a formality as Kirstein had already locked up the double.
According to the screens, there were 17 players out of 19 entries remaining with the likes of Ben, Okkie Fourie, Harold Brooks, Caleb October and Daniel Scott in contention mid-way through level three. Melika Razavi then entered to open a third table.
During the break, Wesley Blom mentioned a hand where he pot-controlled with pocket kings and Martin Smit fired on a board containing three aces on the flop with the words "one ace is enough".
Just now, Smit bet the 10♦8♠3♣ flop and 9♥ turn for 5,000 each to get called. Smit also bet the J♣ river for 5,000 and Blom raised to 10,000. Upon an expiring action clock, Smit called and mucked to the K♥J♥ of Blom.
James Rann defended his big blind against a raise by Vincent Albert and check-called for 6,000 on the A♦K♣7♠ flop. After the 10♥ turn, he checked again and then folded when Albert fired a larger second barrel.
One table over, Chris Luyt disappeared after running with A♥10♣ into Q♦Q♠ and joined his son Jared Luyt on the rail as both were wandering around the tournament area.

The field is down to 55 players out of 90 entries at the end of level eight and they are now on the final scheduled break of 15 minutes. Once the players return, they complete one more level before bagging and tagging.
The field size for Day 1b is climbing slowly towards the business end of the flight and has now reached 88 entries. The two Brits Dean Hutchison and James Rann entered for the first time, while Ryan Brauer re-entered and Jehan Richards also jumped in.
Troy Mc Teer raised to 3,500 with the A♦J♠ from an early position and Daniel Brauer called in the hijack holding the K♦J♦. On the J♥8♠3♥ flop, Mc Teer three-bet to 45,000 for Brauer to call-in.
The K♥ turn improved Brauer and the J♣ river gave him the double with a full house.
