Lukhai Is Going Home This Time

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Navin Lukhai
Navin Lukhai

With the flop showing 1098, Jonathan Hoal called a bet worth 12,000 by Terry Brookes and Navin Lukhai also came along. Bradley Moore then jammed for 139,000 and Brookes was in the tank.

Hoal leaned over to the next table and when Brookes had folded, he was not right next to his chair again so the dealer mucked his cards. Lukhai then sigh-called all-in and the following showdown proceeded.

Navin Lukhai: 77 All in
Bradley Moore: 98

Prior to the call, Lukhai had declared Moore to have two pair and was right with his read. However, the 10 turn and Q river changed nothing and Moore claimed the knockout.

Nortje Eliminated by Rothman

Level 8 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Marko Nortje
Marko Nortje

Marko Nortje had been terrorising the table with large river bets but didn't gain a ton of chips. He was able to get Tanith Rothman off a hand not long ago and they both tangled in a pot again. Rothman defended out of the blinds and check-raised the 955 flop from 7,000 to 15,000 for Nortje to call.

Rothman led the K turn for 25,000 and Nortje called to then have Rothman bet the 2 river for 50,000.

Nortje pushed all-in for 80,500 total and that sent Rothman into agony.

"Flush again?" she asked and one time bank expired before she made the call.

"It was such a good bluff," Nortje said while he rolled over the A4 and he was then upset when Rothman flipped over the 85 for trips fives.

Nortje got into some table chat with Rothman and Cliton Taliwanth, the latter of who he told "she has the worst five" before eventually heading out of the tournament area.

Four ways to the KJJ flop, Navin Lukhai bet and was called two times to see the Q on the turn. It now checked to Lukhai once more and he bet 23,000. Jonathan Hoal jammed for 131,000 and Lukhai sigh-folded after first admitting "I am going home".
