Hyman Pays Off Vogelsang

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang made it 35,000 in the small blind and Matt Hyman called in the big. Vogelsang continued for 26,000 when {3-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs} flopped. Hyman popped it up to 82,000 and Vogelsang called. Both checked the {2-Spades}, bringing a {4-Diamonds}. Vogelsang bet 100,000.

"Such a sick flop," Hyman said with a sigh before dropping in calling chips.

Vogelsang showed {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for the win.

"Nine-x of clubs?" Jason Koon asked.

Hyman nodded.

Big River Bet from Sontheimer

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Justin Bonomo opened the cutoff to 22,000 and Steffen Sontheimer called in the small blind.

The flop landed {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Sontheimer checked to Bonomo who 20,000. Sontheimer called, and then both players checked the {8-Clubs} on the turn.

The river landed the {J-Diamonds}, and Sontheimer bet out 145,000 and Bonomo released his hand.

Aido Triples Up

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

From under the gun, Steffen Sontheimer raised to 22,000 and Justin Bonomo called in the small blind. From the big blind, Sergio Aido moved all in for 56,000, and both Sontheimer and Bonomo called.

The {5-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop was checked through as the {9-Clubs} landed on the turn. Bonomo checked, Sontheimer bet 65,000, and Bonomo made the call as the river landed the {A-Hearts}.

Bonomo checked, Sontheimer bet 130,000, and Bonomo folded.

Sontheimer tabled his {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a pair of aces, but it would be Aido's {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} that would see him earn a triple up with a pair of aces but a better kicker.

Badziakouski Claims a Big Fold

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski raised to 22,000 under the gun and Steffen Sontheimer defended big blind. They both checked the flop a board of {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Sontheimer check-called 40,000. On the {k-Spades} river, the German led out 144,000. Badziakouski tanked awhile, using an extension, and then opted to fold.

"King," he said making a mucking motion.

"You bet your king-eight on the turn?" Sontheimer asked dubiously.

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Both checked the {7-Spades}, bringing a {9-Hearts}. Badziakouski fired big with 200,000 and Bonomo announced an immediate call.

"King-jack," Badziakouski said, turning over {k-Spades}{j-Spades}.

Bonomo muttered something and mucked.

Adams Eliminated Before End of Day 2

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams

Brandon Adams was downed to a short stack and he couldn't make it through to Day 3. His farewell came when he was sitting in the small blind, facing Kahle Burns' open to 22,000 and Stephen Chidwick's flat on the button. Adams called and they went three-way to the flop.

It fell {Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and things looked good from Adams' perspective as he had {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. He checked to Burns who fired a continuation bet of 40,000. Chidwick got rid of his pocket tens and Adams jammed his remaining 136,000. Burns called right away, showing {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Adams had 11 outs but his nine no longer played for him after the {K-Diamonds} hit the turn. He was left hoping for a club on the river but he wouldn't get one as the {4-Diamonds} river eliminated him from the tournament in 15th place.

Kaverman Makes Huge Fold to Koon's Shove

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Byron Kaverman raised to 23,000 in the first position and Christoph Vogelsang, sitting behind him, flatted. Jason Koon, pumped the price to 125,000 out of the small blind and Kaverman called while Vogelsang paved the way for a heads-up pot.

Koon fired 100,000 on the {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} flop and Kaverman called again.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Koon announced he was all-in. Kaverman immediately asked for a count, and it was 617,000.

Kaverman burned one timebank but eventually folded. "Show one, I show," Kaverman begged.

"I can't do it," Koon replied.

"Pocket queens," Kaverman verbally announced his hand.

"No way," Koon didn't believe. But Kaverman indeed showed {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

"No waaaay," Koon shouted. Kaverman then begged him again to show his goods, but Koon didn't oblige: "I can't do it to you," throwing his hand face down to the muck.

Burns Overbets into Nuts

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Kahle Burns and Stephen Chidwick were on the river of the {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{A-Hearts} board with 215,000 already in the middle. Burns had missed an open-ender with his {6-Spades}{5-Spades} but he showed some heart, trying to steal the pot on the river. He bombed it, overbetting the pot with a 250,000 shell.

Chidwick, however, had {A-Spades}{10-Spades} and no reason to get scared with an unbeatable hand. He raised to 900,000 and Burns took full 30 seconds before folding, trying to sell a tough decision towards the end of the day.

Vogelsang Keeps Crushing

Level 14 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On a completed board of {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Christoph Vogelsang fired in 260,000 and Sam Soverel was in the tank in the big blind. It looked to be a pot-sized bet. Soverel used at least one time extension and then threw in calling chips, but he couldn't beat {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a set.
