Davies was grinding a short stack for a while, hoping to find a double. Some of his recent shoves got through but he would eventually finish eighth, earning $90,000 coming from the forfeited deposits.
His run came to an end when he found in the small blind, moving all-in over Daniel Negreanu's button-raise. Unfortunately for Davies, Jason Koon woke up with in the big blind and reshoved. Negreanu laid down his queen-jack.
The board ran , eliminating Davies in eighth place. All remaining players reached the official six-handed final table, having locked up $600,000.
