Gibbons Cracks Aces to Double
Level 6
: 300/600, 600 ante
A pot was brewing three-ways with the board reading Q♣9♥4♦J♥ on the turn with a little under 25,000 in the middle already.
Max Gibbons jammed first-to-act from the middle position for his 30,600 stack. Dawn Mougel on his left took a while before she folded, and Vicky Khaov in the hijack would go into a tank of her own before she called to put Gibbons at risk.
Max Gibbons: Q♠J♠
Vicky Khaov: A♥A♦
Gibbons had turned two pair to crack the aces of Khaov, who could still find a third ace or counterfeit her opponent. However, the river was the 2♠, and Gibbons held on to double his stack
