Bunch's Trap Works Until it Doesn't
Level 8
: Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
A player opened to 2,400 from the hijack and Eric Bunch flatted in the small blind. In the big blind, Alex Winter squeezed to 8,500. The hijack got out of the way before Bunch back-jammed all in for his 33,200 stack. Winter was pained by the decision but he eventually shrugged and tossed in the call with the covering stack.
Eric Bunch: K♦K♣
Alex Winter: A♦5♣
Winter got his hand caught in the cookie jar but he still decided to go with it. However, he ran into Bunch's trap with the kings.
The 10♠7♥5♥ flop added more outs for Winter after pairing his five. The 7♣ turn was safe, but the A♥ landed on the river, giving Winter the winner as Bunch was sent to the rail in brutal fashion.
