Reading Holds On to Double
Level 13
: Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
There was a little under 40,000 in the middle preflop in a three-way pot with the flop reading 7♣5♦3♣.
It checked to John Reading on the button who jammed for his remaining 43,000. The third opponent folded but the early position opponent called after a minute's tank.
John Reading: 8♥8♦
Early Position: A♦4♦
Reading was ahead with the overpair but his opponent held an overcard, double gutter, and backdoor flush draw. Luckily for Reading, the board ran out 10♥5♣, leaving his eights best to secure the double.
