Misirian Takes One and Shows
Level 18
: Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
John Misirian had opened to 25,000 from middle position before Thomas Zanot three-bet to 70,000 on his left. The button then put out the cold four-bet to 150,000. Misirian flatted but Zanot let his hand go.
The two went heads-up to an 8♣2♠2♥ flop with a little under 2x pot behind. Misirian check-called a small bet of just 30,000 from the button.
The 4♣ turn checked through to the 4♥ river which saw Misirian lead for 100,000, and his opponent let it go fairly quick.
"Jacks or queens?" his opponent asked.
Misirian had one pip better, tabling K♠K♥. Another player asked the big blind if he had ace-king, and he nodded in confirmation.
