Cars went on their backs on Table 370 with Sonny Franco in the cutoff at risk against Mohamed Aissani in the small blind.
Sonny Franco: A♣J♠
Mohamed Aissani: K♦10♣
Franco remained in the lead all the way through a board of 4♠Q♥Q♦5♠J♦ and double up. "I have 400,000 now. It seems like nothing but it's 20 blinds", Franco said, smiling.
Action folded to Cid Ghillain in the cutoff, who opened to 120,000, only to be faced with a three-bet to 300,000 by David Foucault in the big blind. After some thought, Ghillain annouced an all-in four bet with the slightly covering stack. Foucault made the quick call.
David Foucault: A♠K♣
Cid Ghillain: A♦K♥
A chopped pot appeared likely, but the sweat was on for Foucault when the flop came 9♦6♦10♦ to give Ghillian the diamond draw.
Ghillian began calling for the diamond, and celebrated wildly when the 3♦ rolled off on the turn, shouting "Yes Papa!" repeatedly. The 9♣ completed the board and Foucault, understandably disgusted with his misfortune, cursed the poker gods and pushed his chips across the table to the dealer.
Moncef Karoui opened to 45,000 from middle position, and he was called by Grégory Fournier in the cutoff and Abel Pruchon in the big blind.
On a flop of 2♠2♥7♥, Karoui continued for 75,000. Fournier called, but Pruchon check-raised to 225,000. Fournier was the only one to call.
The turn was the K♠ and Pruchon moved all-in for 505,000. Fournier seemed to have no choice but to call.
Abel Pruchon: 4♣2♣
Grégory Fournier: A♦K♥
Pruchon flopped trips and doubled up after the 5♦ river against Fournier's top pair.
Nemo Israel opened to 40,000 under the gun and was met with a three-bet to 110,000 by Michael Kalfon on the button. Action folded back to Israel, and after some thought, he folded.
In the next hand, action folded to Kalfon in the cutoff, who opened to 40,000. Israel defended his big blind.
On the 7♠4♣4♦ flop, Israel checked to his opponent, who moved all in with the covering stack, with Israel playing about 14 big blinds behind. After some consideration, he called.
Nemo Israel: 6♥5♠
Michael Kalfon: 10♦10♣
Israel had an up and down straight draw and was in trouble versus Kalfon's pocket tens. No help arrived on the J♠ turn and K♠ river, and Israel headed for the payout desk.
Mehidi Sahli in the cutoff and Henri Lansade in the small blind raised each other and ended up moving all-in, with Sahli at risk for 720,000.
Mehidi Sahli: K♦K♠
Henri Lansade: Q♥Q♦
The dealer fanned a board of A♦A♣A♥J♦9♣, and Sahli doubled up.
