Another WSOP ring chase started today at the Casino Sanremo with Day 1a of the 2024 World Series of Poker Circuit €1,000 Main Event.
A total of 172 entrants joined this first flight of the tournament, and the day ended with 43 remaining players who qualified for Day 2. Among these players, Mateusz Sikora leads with a stack of 498,000 chips. Dominating the chip count almost from start to finish, Sikora aims to capture his second WSOP ring, having won his first in May in the Netherlands.
Second in chips is Manuel Valduga (406,000), followed by experienced Swedish player Peter Kvisthammar with 394,500.

Thanks to a hand where he eliminated two players at once, Pierre Basile amassed a stack of 371,500, while Brice Guido (363,000) built his stack steadily. In the same time, Herve Gouzil secured a big double-up in the last level of the day to finish in the top ten with 280,000.
EPT champion Arnaud Mattern made it to Day 2 with 262,000 chips, unlike another EPT winner, Giuliano Bendinelli, who was among the last players eliminated.
Blaise Bourgeois was pleased to qualify on Day 1a, giving him a few days off before returning on Day 2 with 229,000 chips, around 75 big blinds. Alban Beysson (161,000) also qualified, along with Fabio Damaso and Bruno Fitoussi (142,500), who eliminated the last player of the day. Finally, Nils Mallon sits at the bottom of the chip count with 37,500, slightly over 10 big blinds.
The WSOP-C Main Event continues tomorrow, Friday, November 8 at 1.p.m. and follows the same structure as today.

Dhouimer went deep into the tank, but folded what he said was KxQx. Linari seemed relieved and flipped over 9♦8♠ for a straight draw.
