Second Chance Awaits in Day 1b of $10,000 LAPC Main Event

Action continues at the 2025 LA Poker Classic, as players have another chance to bag a stack in the $10,000 LAPC Main Event. Saturday’s opening flight saw 26 players advance from a total of 47 entries, leaving the prize pool already well over $400,000 to this point.

Day 1b will get underway this morning at 11:00 a.m. local time, with many notable names expected to take their shot at The Commerce Casino & Hotel.

Two-time WSOP bracelet winner Taylor Paur collected 326,800 chips through the opening flight, setting the pace before Day 2 begins on Monday.

Players will once again start with 60,000 chips when the second flight kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with blinds of 100/200 and a big blind ante of 200. Another six 90-minute levels are on the schedule, with 15-minute breaks in between.

Only one entry per day is available, including Day 2, as late registration does not close until the start of Level 8 on Monday afternoon.

All surviving players from both opening flights will combine, along with any new entries for a further six levels of action before bagging for Day 3.

Fast Start for Rodriguez

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Shortly after taking down a sizeable pot, Cesar Rodriguez was heads-up with Pedro Ingles to the K♦10♥5♦2♥ turn.

Ingles led out for 4,000 from the small blind and Rodriguez made the call in the big blind. The 4♦ river completed the board and Rodriguez Ingles checked.

Rodriguez took a moment before tossing out a bet of 10,000, good enough to take down another pot after Ingles folded.

Woods was flipping for his tournament life, but the 5♦8♣4♣K♣Q♥ runout was no help as Nudo held to score the knockout.

Level 2 : Blinds 200/300, 300 ante

Adam Nudo checked the 5♥A♠J♠ flop from the big blind, with Pedro Ingles firing 1,000 in early position. David Uvaydov made the call in the cutoff and Nudo came along to see the 10♣ turn.

Another check from Nudo was followed by another bet from Ingles, this time for 2,400. Uvaydov folded and Nudo called once again.

Nudo checked one last time on the K♦ river and Ingles slid out a bet of 3,500. After taking a moment, Nudo raised to 7,000.

Ingles thought it over and opted to fold, as Nudo added to his stack.

Pustina Sends Out Hoy

Vlastimil Pustina opened to 1,500 from on the button before Ben Hoy slid out a three-bet to 4,500 in the small blind.

Pustina called and the 3♥9♣K♣ flop was revealed. Hoy led out for 4,000 and Pustina replied by raising to 8,000. The call was made and both players checked through the J♥ turn.

Hoy checked the 2♣ river and Pustina announced all in. After taking some time, Hoy reluctantly put in the call.

Pustina showed A♣3♣ for a flush, while Hoy tabled 9♥9♦ on his way to the exit.

Ticherfatine Cracks Nudo's Aces

Three-way action to the 8♠2♣Q♠ flop was down to heads-up after Cecile Ticherfatine bet 4,500 on the button and Adam Nudo check-called in the big blind.

Nudo checked again after seeing the 7♠ turn and called when Ticherfatine continued for 12,000. The 6♠ river completed the board, with Nudo declining to bet and Ticherfatine checking it down.

Nudo tabled A♣A♥ while Ticherfatine made the flush with 10♠8♥ to take it down.

Klein Turns a Winner

Bill Klein raised from under the gun and was called by David Pock on the button.

Klein led out for 1,000 after the 6♣J♣A♦ flop and Pock tossed in the call. Both players then opted to check through the Q♦ turn and the dealer flipped over the 5♥ river.

Klein fired again for 5,500 and Pock made the quick call. Klein tabled A♥Q♣ for two pair, while Pock turned over A♣6♠ for an inferior two pair.

Kim took some time before tossing in the call and the dealer turned over the 6♥ river.

Another check from Kim followed, with He opting to check it back. Kim tabled A♥K♥ for a flush, raking in the pot as He mucked.

An initial raise to 1,400 preflop brought forth a five-way pot heading into a flop of 2♥8♠8♣. Adam Swan checked to Tianyi Ma who bet the flop for 1,500 before Swan raised to 5,500 when the action folded back to him.

Ma chose to call the 5,500 wager while the other three players folded their hands.

The 6♥ turn garnered a 12,500 bet from Swan and Ma followed with a call.

Swan chose to check after a long pause following the A♣ river before Ma assertively bet 25,500.

Swan opted to fold to the river bet awarding Ma the pot.

Carnero Calls Correctly

Action was heads-up through the 8♠5♣3♦ flop, where Martin Carnero led out for 3,000 from the small blind. Won Lim made the call in the big blind to see the 4♠ turn.

Carnero checked and called after Lim fired 10,500 into the middle. Carnero followed with another check on the 5♥ river, and Lim slid out a bet of 20,500.

After taking a few minutes, Carnero opted to call showing down K♠K♦ for two pair. Lim instantly mucked and headed out for the break, while Carnero scooped a bit pot ahead of the night's final level.
