Liechtenstein National Among 11 Players to Survive Day 1c of the THMC Main Event

Level 14 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Kathrin Wolfinger

Day 1c of the 2023 The Hendon Mob Championship Liechtenstein CHF 300 ($332) Main Event is in the books. During the day, a total of 37 entries were made in Grand Casino Liechtenstein, of which 11 players bagged and tagged a stack for Day 2. Meanwhile, Day 1d is still ongoing and is boasting 73 entries at the time of writing. Fifty-two players remain in contention in that flight, with late registration still being open for three more levels. Across all starting days so far, 178 players have registered for the tournament, which means that the organization still has some ways to go to reach the CHF 200,000 guarantee.

Chip leading Day 1c is the relatively unknown Zuelfuekar Kalmaz, who bagged and tagged a stack of 281,000, good for 47 big blinds at the start of Day 2, and netting him an 11th spot on the overall leaderboard so far. "Leon 17" (270,000) and Maurizio Nobili (239,000) were the two other players to amass more than 200,000 chips during the day and complete the top three chip stacks.

Meanwhile, local heroine Kathrin Wolfinger also made it through to Day 2. She occupies the second place on The Hendon Mob's Liechtenstein all-time money list, an exclusive list that only contains 17 people in total. Being only $10,000 in lifetime winnings away from overtaking leader Philipp Meier, a deep run in the THMC Main Event might mean she may just capture that honor from him. However, she has her work cut out for her, as she will have to spin up a stack of 88,000 on Day 2, just under 15 big blinds.

Before she has to worry about that, though, four more starting flights need to finish first. As stated Day 1d is finishing up tonight, while Day 1e and Day 1f are taking place June 3rd. Then, the turbo Day 1g is scheduled to take place just before Day 2 on June 4th. Many more players are expected to show up, attracted by the huge guarantee provided.

PokerNews will be back on June 3rd, at 1 p.m. local time. At that time, Day 1e will kick off. Day 1d will then also be quickly glossed over, and the chip counts of Day 1d will also be provided. Tune back in at that moment to not miss any of the poker action from the mountains of Liechtenstein.

Kissling Leitgeb Contributing to "Omaha4Rollz"s Downfall

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
"Omaha4Rollz"
"Omaha4Rollz"

It had only been a few minutes since PokerNews checked on "Omaha4Rollz"s table, but upon return, he was seen with a much smaller stack.

A part of it was in the middle as he had called Monika Kissling Leitgeb's all-in of 65,000. The cards were already flipped up and read:

Monika Kissling Leitgeb: A7
"Omaha4Rollz": A4

It was looking to be a chop on AKQ8, but the 7 river brought Kissling Leitgeb two pair. She sighed a sigh of relief as she took in the double-up, while "Omaha4Rollz" counted what he was left with. He would later lose them all in an unwitnessed hand.

On the other table, Jakob Leitgeb's seat was also spotted empty in the meantime.

One and Done for Muric

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ernat Muric
Ernat Muric

Claudio Piceci raised to 6,500 from early position and Jakob Leitgeb and Manfred Mueller called from the hijack and button respectively. "Leon 17" and Ernat Muric followed suit from the blinds, and the party went five-way to a flop.

698 is what the deck brought, and Muric led for 12,000 after a check from "Leon 17". Everyone proceeded with a fold and the pot was headed Muric's way.

Meanwhile, "RME" and "Nokia3210" had to say their goodbyes from Day 1c.

Andri Hotz
Andri Hotz

Andri Hotz and "Leon 17" were heads up on a flop of 62A. The pot was amounting to around 14,500 when "Leon 17" checked to Hotz, who put out a bet of 15,000. "Leon 17" called and the 10 presented itself on the turn.

After another check from "Leon17", Hotz promptly jammed all-in for 70,000 total. "Leon17" mulled it over for a while, but eventually made the fold.

Ditaranto Busts Second Bullet

Level 9 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
"Omaha4Rollz"
"Omaha4Rollz"

Giuseppe Ditaranto raised to 3,330 from the hijack and his neighbor Monika Kissling Leitgeb called from the cutoff. "Omaha4Rollz" consequently defended their big blind and a flop of KK8 was fanned out.

"Omaha4Rollz" started with a check, after which Ditranto made a continuation-bet of 2,000. The small number was enough to let Leitgeb let it go, but "Omaha4Rollz" put in the raise to 6,400. An immediate call followed from Ditaranto and a 3 turn was dealt.

Ditaranto now made a big bet of 15,000, upon which Ditaranto shoved all-in, being covered by his opponent's stack. "Omaha4Rollz" was now the one to snap call to put Ditaranto at risk of exiting the tournament for the second time.

Giuseppe Ditaranto: 99
"Omaha4Rollz": K10

With Ditaranto down to two outs, the dealer flipped over the 7 as a river, which sealed the deal in "Omaha4Rollz"s favor as the pile of chips was shipped his way.

Steimer Scoops a Big One

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
Theo Steimer
Theo Steimer

There were 10,000 chips in the middle on a board of A38, and Ernat Muric checked from the small blind. Claudio Piceci did the same from the big blind and Jakob Leitgeb followed suit from early position. Theo Steimer was next to act and put a bet out of 3,500. Muric made the call before Piceci check-raised to 10,500 chips.

This got Leitgeb out of the hand, however, Steimer stuck around. Muric folded as well, after some thought, and the two remaining players went heads up to the turn.

The J fell and Piceci instantly put his opponent's stack of 7,400 in the middle. Steimer made the call just as quick and their hands were revealed.

Theo Steimer: A10
Claudio Piceci: 83

Piceci had flopped two pair with his big blind special and had Steimer on the ropes. However, the 10 rivered Steimer the superior two pair, much to the dismay of Pececi.

Some heated words were exchanged in German between the three involved players, but Steimer could not care less as he stacked the chips in the end.

"Seven-Deuce, Never Lose"

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Maurizio Nobili
Maurizio Nobili

"H1z die Locke" limped in from under the gun, and Maurizio Nobili and "Fischer" followed suit from the button and the small blind respectively. Peter Camponovo then checked the big blind and the players went four-way to a flop.

On AA6, "Fischer" checked to Camponovo, who led out for 1,000. "H1z die Locke" called, as did Nobili, while "Fischer" got out of the way.

The J turn then checked around before the 3 river completed the board. Camponovo checked and "H1z die Locke" put out a bet of 2,000. Nobili then raised to 5,200 and Camponovo mucked his cards. "H1z die Locke" put in the extra chips, only to get shown the 72 for the turned flush.

"Seven-Deuce, Never Lose!", Nobili enthusiastically exclaimed while he raked in the pot.

Wolfinger Doubles Up, Leaves Steimer Short

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Kathrin Wolfinger
Kathrin Wolfinger

A completed board of A92210 was dealt on the table and Kathrin Wolfinger went all-in for 15,000 chips from the big blind. The pot was around 16,000 and Theo Steimer was in the middle position weighing his options.

Eventually, he made the call and mucked his cards when Wolfinger tabled A7 for two pair.

"My first pot!", exclaimed Wolfinger happily. Meanwhile Steimer was left with a meager stack of a little over twelve big blinds.

Three-Way All-In Sees Muric Triple, Ditaranto Bust

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Ernat Muric
Ernat Muric

When PokerNews arrived at the scene, all cards were already dealt and Giuseppe Ditaranto's seat was empty. A preflop three-way all-in situation had apparently occurred between him, Ernat Muric, and Mathys Beat.

The KK of Ditaranto still lay in front of his chair, while Muric had JJ open and Mathys played AQ.

The board read 2210AJ and the dealer counted Muric's stack as 29,200, which covered Ditaranto. Mathys meanwhile, saw his stack halved by the rivered set.

Ditaranto's kings could not hold in this three-way clash and he was the first to be eliminated from Day 1c.

Mathys Wins Two in a Row

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante
Beat Mathys
Beat Mathys

Beat Mathys raised to 300 from the small blind and Jakob Leitgeb called from the big blind. The flop was spread 1074 and Mathys continued for 400 chips, which Letgeb put in as well. On the 10 turn, Mathys bet 700 more, but this time Leitgeb folded.

The next hand, Mathys opened to 300 from the button and Leitgeb called the small blind. Katja Maria Schneider defended her big blind as well, and the trio saw a flop of 6A9.

Schneider took the betting lead and put 700 chips in the middle after a check from Leitgeb. Mathys matched the bet with a call, while Leitgeb got out of the way. Schneider then continued her aggression with a bet of 1,500 on the 2 turn and Mathys called once more.

The K river was then knuckled down by both players, upon which Schneider shook her head and showed 55. Mathys showed a higher pair with J9 and he took down his second consecutive pot.
