Day 1fg Completed
Days 1f and 1g of the Main Event of The Hendon Mob Winter Championships have concluded here at the Grand Casino, Liechtenstein, with 41 players surviving from a total of 168 entries.
Marko Ilicic (329,000) and Roland Oswald (291,000) bagged top 3 stacks in Day 1f, while Gordon Paterson (381,000) and Stipe Orec (315,000) topped the chip counts for Day 1g, all of whom remain some way behind overall chip leader Nicola Diaco (1,045,000).
Paterson never looked back after hitting a full house against Thomas Hofmann and continued to chip up throughout the day with an aggressive approach, taking a large pot off Dieter Pichler at the very end of the flight.
Orec was also active throughout the day and knocked out Hofmann and Franco Spichtig in the last hand to accumulate a sizeable stack for Day 2.
Players such as Tomas Pihurik and Christian Beer did not quite manage to find a bag for Day 2, but will have one final opportunity to do so in the Day 1h turbo flight.
Day 1h will take place at noon Sunday, February 4 and features 15-minute blind levels, but otherwise follows the same structure as previous flights.
Day 2 will commence at 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 4 and will feature 45-minute levels. Players who survive to Day 3 will return on Monday, February 5 at 6 p.m., also to 45-minute levels, for their tilt at the trophy.
PokerNews will be providing full live coverage of the Main Event of the Hendon Mob Winter Championships from Day 2 onwards, so stay tuned to see who ends up taking home the crown and the lion's share of the 150,000 CHF guaranteed prize pool.

Day 1g of the Main Event has now finished, with 22 players progressing to Day 2. Full chip counts and a recap of the day will follow shortly.
On a board of 9♦K♥9♠K♣9♣ and with 25,000 in the middle, Franco Spichtig had moved all in for 71,500, sending his opponent, Stipe Orec into the tank.
Orec eventually made the call and showed A♠A♦ for a better full house than the board, and Spichtig, who had clearly been hoping to get Orec off what he thought would be a chopped pot, turned over Q♠J♦ and headed to the exit.

The tournament director has paused the clock and announced four more hands will be played before Day 1g concludes.
The board read 10♣5♠8♥5♦ and around 120,000 was in the middle. Gordon Paterson checked to Dieter Pichler, who fired out a bet of 30,000.
Paterson pondered his options and check-jammed all-in, putting Pichler to the test for the rest of his stack, with Paterson covering him.
After some thought, Pichler folded, sending a sizeable pot to Paterson.

Stipe Orec and Daniele Polverino had been battling against each other all day and in a button versus small blind spot, with around 50,000 in the middle, Polverino checked to Orec on the 3♥Q♥2♠ flop.
Orec fired out a bet of 21,000 and Polverino produced a check-raise to 65,000. After some thought, Orec eventually let go of his hand.
