Bradley Moore defended the small blind against Samuel Finder and check-called a first barrel on the 10♦8♥6♦ flop. On the A♣ turn, Moore checked again and then folded when Finder bet 8,000.
Werner Smit got it in for the last 16,700 preflop and was looked up by the table chip leader Gregory Maistry. It was J♠J♥ versus A♦6♦ and Maistry only spiked one six on the Q♥10♠7♥6♠8♥ board for Smit to survive.
Bernard Gossard raised to 3,000 and was called two ways by Mariette Language and Damian Nigro on the button. The A♥5♠4♥ flop is checked to Language and she bet 3,000. Only Nigro called and did so again for 7,000 on the 5♣ turn.
Language then bet the 7♦ river for 15,000 and Nigro eventually let go.

David Ng had raised and picked up a caller in Anthony Charter, which led them to a flop of J♣6♦4♠ flop. Charter checked, Ng bet 3,200 into 9,800 and Charter called. They checked the 8♦ turn and 6♠ river for Charter to show 3♦3♥. Ng had that pipped with the 7♣7♥ and raked in the pot.
The cards of Rudalf Frick were already in the muck and the pot was shipped over to Corne Schalkwyk. On a board of A♦J♠6♥5♣5♠, the A♣J♣ of Schalkwyk were good enough for aces and jacks to deal the final blow.
Day 1a yesterday attracted 83 entries and as many buy-ins have been collected for the second of three flights as well. There are currently 53 players remaining and the late registration is open for another two and a half levels plus break.
On the 7♠6♦4♣ flop, David Ng bet from the hijack and called a raise to 8,000 by Jaco Mouton on the button.
Ng check-called the 7♦ turn for 12,000 and they checked the A♣ on the river.
Ng showed his K♠K♥ and Mouton exclaimed "I played this hand so badly" before showing A♠J♣ to win the pot.
