Jeremy Kenter Tops Day 1c in Mystery Bounty 1M GTD

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The third flight of Event 8: $1,600 Mystery Bounty $1 Million Guaranteed has now come to an end after ten hours of play here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas. Day 1c saw 37 registrants hit the registration cage, and when the dust had settled only five advanced from the flight.

Sitting atop the leaderboard by night's end was Jeremy Kenter who bagged an impressive 581,000. Kenter took home the feat of being the Day 1c leader after finishing the night with the elimination of Matthew McDowell. He stacked up early and played with little fear right up until it was time to bag.

Next up on the totem pole is Guilebaldo Flores who filled his bag with 436,000 chips on this flight. Flores was sitting at the top of the food chain for a considerable amount of time during the final table but a late-night surge by Kenter dropped him to second to end the day. The other three to bag include Zachary Hambrice (231,000), Collin Ball (135,000), and Alexander Suprun (99,000).

The five survivors will combine with the rest of the Day 1 runners who advance for Day 2 on Sunday, May 15, at 2 p.m. to battle it out. The second-day players will all be guaranteed at least a min-cash and will have bounties in play, having every knockout earn a bounty chip that can be redeemed for a shot at the $100,000 top prize.

Blinds on Day 2 will bump up to 60-minutes in length and as of now, will begin at 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. The prize pool, payouts, and seating chart will be posted prior to the start of play and the day will not end until a trophy is given away.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here throughout the event, so stay tuned as the action unfolds here in the Lodge Championship Series.

McDowell Bubbles Day 2

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Mathew McDowell
Mathew McDowell

Jeremy Kenter opened to 15,000 from the cutoff and Matthew McDowell then shoved 45,000 in the small blind. Guilebaldo Flores called from the big blind and Kenter stuck around as well to make it a three-way pot.

The two players in the side pot checked through to the river, having {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{a-Hearts} fall on the felt during. Kenter then fired in a bet and Flores instantly folded.

McDowell turned over {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for a rivered pair of rockets but Kenter one-pipped him with his {a-Spades}{j-Spades} to take down the hand with his jack-kicker. McDowell was eliminated and the final five players bagged up their stacks.

Bubble has Been Reached in Day 1c

Level 13 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jason Obinger
Jason Obinger

Jason Obinger opened from under the gun to 11,000, Jeremy Kenter called in the small blind, and Collin Ball decided to stick around as well from the big blind.

The dealer fanned out {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} on the flop and all three checked through to the {8-Clubs} turn. Obinger saw action check to him and he put in 20,000.

Kenter check-raised to 75,000, Ball folded and Obinger called after a moment of thought. An {a-Diamonds} river completed the board, Kenter shoved and Obinger snapped for less, having around 57,000.

Obinger tabled his {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a flopped set but it was not enough when Kenter showed {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, giving him a turned straight and the pot. Obinger was eliminated and the flight is now down to just six runners, one away from bagging up for Day 2.

Doug Polk Hits the Max Late-Reg Button

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Doug Polk at The Lodge Poker Club
Doug Polk at The Lodge Poker Club

Coming in as the last registrant of the field is the one and only Doug Polk. He came in and instantly jumped into the action, having the better part of his stack depart in a three-way pot.

Adam Garcia opened to 2,200, and both Cody Wells and Trey Valkenaar called. Doug Polk then three-bet shoved for 21,900 from the button and Raul Garza called in his stack for less, having just 19,100 in the small blind.

Michael Tillman was in the big blind and elected to put his 9,100 into the middle as well. Garcia, Wells, and Valkenaar all folded, leaving just three for a runout, with Polk having a chance to drop two.

Michael Tillman: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Raul Garza: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Doug Polk: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

The dealer spread out {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, hitting Garza with a bullet to take the lead, and the {3-Clubs} turn changed not a thing. Polk and Tillman needed some love but the {7-Clubs} river missed them, sending Tillman to the rail, and Polk was left short.

On the next hand, Polk put in the rest of his stack in the cutoff and Qing Lu called from the big blind. Lu tabled {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Polk showed his {5-Spades}{4-Spades}.

The board came down {k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Lu took down the hand with her two pair. Polk was sent to the rail shortly after jumping into the Day 1c flight.
