Cox Makes the Nuts and Gets Paid

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Bill Cox
Bill Cox

Action picked up on the turn with a board showing {3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}.

Charles Wardlaw led into a pot of about 6,500 for a bet of 3,000. Bill Cox quickly went all in for about 15,000 effective, what was left in Wardlaw's stack.

Wardlaw thought for a bit and eventually went with his hand, but soon saw the bad news. Cox flipped {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for the turned nut-straight, while Wardlaw was holding {q-Spades}{10-Hearts} for turned two pair.

"I thought, 'not jack-nine, please just a queen.'"

The {9-Diamonds} didn't fill up Wardlaw and his chips were slid over to Cox.

Brabham Becomes the Master

Level 1 : 100/200, 0 ante
Thomas Brabham
Thomas Brabham

The action picked up on the river with Thomas Brabham making a bet of 4,000 into a pot of about the same. The board read {3-}{6-}{a-}{3-}{3-}.

Grasshopper Lee thought for a bit from the small blind and decided to put in the check-raise to the tune of 12,000.

"Did you really do that?" said Brabham as he stared at the three threes on the board. Ultimately, he did put in the call.

Lee exposed {6-}{6-} for a full house that would beat any single ace. Unfortunately for him, Brabham had not one, but two aces in {a-}{a-} to win himself a healthy level one pot.
