The Lodge Championship Series is closing in on the end as just one tournament is left for the viewers at home. A total of 617 entry slips were sold for Event 13: $3,000 Main Event $2 Million Guaranted here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas. This total came up short of the guarantee, creating a whopping $334,100 overlay for the players to indulge in with the eventual champion taking home $417,800 for their win, along with an LCS trophy.

Day 2 saw 259 return to play a total of ten levels before bagging up and just 39 booked their ticket by night's end. Leading the way is none other than Doug Polk who takes a sizeable lead into Day 3. Polk will be starting the day with 2,755,000 (138 bb) and the closest behind him is Alain Bauer with 1,925,000 (97 bb). The only other player relatively close is Stephen Song who managed to bag 1,895,000 (95 bb) when the night had ended.

Strong Start for Song Leaves Brewer on the Rail

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jason Brewer
Jason Brewer

Jason Brewer was in middle position and Stephen Song the big blind when all the chips went in. Song had more than enough to cover Brewer who was at risk early on in the day.

Jason Brewer: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Stephen Song: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The dealer quickly spread {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} out on the flop, hitting Song with a bullet to take the lead. The {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds} runout cemented it for Song to take down the pot, eliminating Brewer from the field.

Keating Connects, Flushes Wells Out

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Adam Wells
Adam Wells

Alex Keating opened from middle position, Adam Wells three-bet to 115,000 on the button and Keating called to see the {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop.

A check from Keating saw Wells jam for around 600,000 and Keating didn't take long to call. Wells turned over {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} for the lead when Keating tabled {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} but Wells needed to dodge some cards.

Instantly Keating connected on the turn with a {4-Clubs} to land his flush. Wells was then drawing dead to the insignificant {j-Hearts} and was eliminated, sending his stack over to the ever-scary Keating.

Couple Doubles for the Short Stacks

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Table 32:

Dien Le moved in his stack with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and received a call from Andrew Moreno who had {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

The board fell {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Le pulled in the hand with his set of queens to double through Moreno.

Table 34:

The turned board read {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} when Eric Afriat put his remaining stack in the middle with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Mark Mendez was holding {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and called but failed to improve on the {k-Hearts} river, sending Afriat a double.

Bonu Finds Big Slick at the Wrong Time

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Andrew Bonu
Andrew Bonu

Alex Keating opened to 40,000 and John Gallaher then bumped it up to 110,000. Andrew Bonu four-bet shoved 645,000 and Keating folded. Gallaher snap-called and had Bonu dominated.

Andrew Bonu: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
John Gallaher: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

An uneventful {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board landed and Gallaher pulled in the pot, eliminating Bonu from the field with a pair of rockets.

Bullets Showing Up Early on Day 3

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones

The action picked up right before the cards were flipped. Daniel Jones was all in for 122,000, Jack Peterson was in for 152,000, and Nathan Hays called both.

Daniel Jones: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Jack Peterson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Nathan Hays: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

A flop fell {10-}{9-}{4-} hitting Jones with a nine to give him a chance. The board then paired with an unlikely {9-}on the turn to give Jones three.

The board completed with a {10-} and Jones managed to crack aces to secure a triple up. Peterson took down the side with his aces but was seen walking to the payout desk just a few minutes later.
