A total of 617 entry slips were sold for Event 13: $3,000 Main Event $2 Million Guaranted here at The Lodge Poker Club in Round Rock, Texas. Day 2 saw 259 return to play a total of ten levels before bagging up and just 39 booked their ticket by night's end. Leading the way is none other than Doug Polk who takes a sizeable lead into Day 3. Polk will be starting the day with 2,755,000 (138 bb) and the closest behind him is Alain Bauer with 1,925,000 (97 bb). The only other player relatively close is Stephen Song who managed to bag 1,895,000 (95 bb) when the night had ended.

Song Continues to Plummet, Nguyen Benefits

William Nguyen
William Nguyen

William Nguyen opened from under the gun to 230,000, leaving just 75,000 behind, and Stephen Song called on the button. Nguyen shoved his 75,000 on the {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop and Song called it off.

Nguyen showed {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for an overpair of ladies and was ahead of the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} of Song. The {9-Hearts} turn and {6-Spades} river missed song who sent out another double, this time to Nguyen.

Tad Macaraeg Eliminated in 26th Place ($10,200)

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Tad Macaraeg
Tad Macaraeg

The action was on Andrew Moreno who moved all in, totaling 275,000 from middle position. Tad Macaraeg jammed for around 10,000 less in the small blind and the two turned over their hands.

Tad Macaraeg: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Andrew Moreno: {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Macaraeg and Moreno both smashed the {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop but Macaraeg had the kicker. An unlikely {8-Hearts} then peeled off to give Moreno a boat and Macaraeg started to stand up. The {7-Clubs} river cemented it for Moreno with his full house, dropping Macaraeg from the field.

Nathan Hays moved all in from the cutoff for 450,000. Farid Jattin re-shoved from the small blind to fold out the big and the cards were flipped over.

Nathan Hays: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Farid Jattin: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The flop came {j-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river was the {a-Spades} to eliminate Hays and guarantee everyone else another pay jump.

John New Eliminated in 24th Place ($12,000)

Eric Afriat opened the button and John New moved his stack of around 425,000 in from the big blind. Afriat called and they turned over their hands.

John New: {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Eric Afriat: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flip turned into a one-sided affair when {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} landed, hitting the Canadian with a bullet to take a grasp on the hand. The {j-Clubs} and {8-Clubs} on the turn and river were of no help for New who was sent packing. Afriat scooped in the pot and is now near the top of the field.

Big Bluff Meets a Big River

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Alex Keating
Alex Keating

The action picked up on a flop that read {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} with around 185,000 in the pot. Alex Keating saw action check his way and elected to bet 80,000. Alain Bauer check-raised to 190,000 and Keating called.

An {a-Hearts} turn hit the felt, Bauer threw in 200,000 and Keating obliged. A {j-Clubs} completed the board and Bauer announced that he was all in. Keating called instantly for his 1,105,000, tabling {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a rivered straight.

Bauer had {k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a stone-cold bluff. Keating piled in the chips as he bounced back after doubling Blake Whittington.

John Rock Eliminated in 23rd Place ($12,000)

Level 21 : 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
John Rock
John Rock

Action was picked up on the flop of {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}. From middle position, John Rock bet 80,000. Farid Jattin check-raised to 255,000 from the big blind.

Rock went deep into the tank and stared down Jattin. "You do scare me" he said looking into the steely stare of the Colombian crusher as Jattin played with his chips in a rythmn. Rock thought a bit more and pushed all in, Jattin snap-called.

Rock flipped over the {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} which was dominated by the {j-Spades}{3-Clubs} two pair of Jattin.

The turn was the {a-Spades} and the river came the {5-Spades} to end the day for Rock and burgeon the stack of Jattin even more.

Andrew Moreno Eliminated in 22nd Place ($12,000)

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Andrew Moreno
Andrew Moreno

When arriving at the action it appeared that each player put in 195,000 before the flop with Andrew Moreno in the big blind, having just 125,000 behind, and Doug Polk in the hijack.

The dealer spread {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Spades} on the flop and Moreno put in 100,000. Polk put in a few more chips above the bet of Moreno but didn't announce a raise so the dealer counted it as a call.

An {a-Diamonds} rolled out, Polk threw in enough to cover his foe and Moreno called his last 25,000 into the pot. Polk rolled over {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Moreno tabled {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

The {9-Hearts} river missed Moreno and he was eliminated, sending the rest of his stack to Polk who is now back over the 3 million mark.

John Gallaher

John Gallaher raised under the gun. Alain Bauer three-bet from the cutoff. It folded back to Gallaher who four-bet jammed and was snap-called.

John Gallaher: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Alain Bauer: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Gallaher had stepped into the needles and would need serious help to survive. The flop came {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}. The turn was the {4-Diamonds} and the river was the {9-Hearts} to end the run of "JohnnyRunGood" Gallaher as the Scottish-Frenchman Bauer crossed the three million marker in chips.

Polk Tries to Tango with Bauer

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Alain Bauer
Alain Bauer

Alain Bauer bumped it up to 65,000 from the hijack. Doug Polk was on the button when he three-bet to 205,000 and Bauer quickly four-bet, totaling 345,000.

Polk called to see the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} where Bauer continued with 150,000 bet. Polk called, bringing down a {9-Hearts} turn where Bauer once again bet 150,000.

600,000 was pushed into the pot from Polk as he raised. Bauer instantly jammed over the top and Polk just as quickly folded his hand, shipping the pot to Bauer.
