Jason Aden Tops Day 1d in Event 9 $750K GTD
The Day 1d flight was the biggest thus far, adding 162 entries by the end of late registration in Event 9: $800 NLH $750,000 Guaranteed here in Round Rock, Texas at The Lodge Poker Club. That number was shaved down to 20 survivors by night's end who all booked a ticket into Day 2.
Finishing on top of this flight was Jason Aden who managed to bag 461,000. Aden took an early lead when he flopped a straight versus Caitlin Comeskey who held pocket aces. He hovered near the top for the rest of the night, but it was a flip with Raul Garza that solidified his spot on top, having his big slick takedown the ladies of Garza.
Cameron Mixson bridged the gap on Level 16, almost passing Aden for the lead but had to settle for second on the leaderboard with a stack of 456,000. Rounding out the top five are Adam Garcia (446,000), Jeremy Whalen (407,000), and Mitchell Halverson (388,000).

Dejuante Alexander finished the night in what was a cooler of a hand. Philp Jackson pushed his chips into the middle and the room became excited when they heard Alexander call. Jackson had ace-king but Alexander tabled aces and the board ran out dry. Jackson was dubbed the official Day 2 bubble boy and the rest of the field bagged up for the night.
All survivors of the six Day 1 flights will combine on Wednesday, May 18, at 2 p.m. to crown a champion. Blinds will increase to 40-minutes in length on Day 2 and a 60-minute dinner break will be added after six levels have been played.
