Mendoza was in good shape to double up, and remained that way on the 3♦7♥2♣ flop as well as the 7♦ turn.

However, it turned out to just be Song's day, as the J♦ river paired his jack on the end to eliminate Mendoza and put an end to the tournament in dramatic fashion.

Marius Gierse opened to 600,000 on the button and Stephen Song three-bet to 2,000,000 from the small blind. James Mendoza then cold four-bet to 5,500,000 in the big blind with A♥K♦ and Gierse shoved for 8,800,000 total.

Song also went all in for more, which got Mendoza to lay his ace-king down and a showdown was held.

Song was well ahead, given that Mendoza folded some of Gierse's outs, and the board ran out 3♣10♦2♥Q♣6♥ — leaving Song's jacks best to eliminate Gierse in third place.

Stephen Song opened to 600,000 on the button and Martin Nielsen called in the big blind.

Nielsen checked to Song, who continued for 400,000 on the 8♦10♠3♣ flop. Nielsen responded with a check-raise to 1,000,000 and Song called.

Nielsen kept his foot on the gas for a 500,000 bet on the 8♥ turn and Song again called.

The 5♠ completed the board and Nielsen shoved for his last 3,000,000. Song snap-called and turned over K♠8♣ for trip eights.

Nielsen could only show 7♦6♦ for a failed bluff attempt and was sent to the rail in fourth place.

It was bad timing from Demus, who would need some help against Mendoza's jacks.

It wasn't meant to be, however, as the Q♦6♥9♦J♠Q♠ runout needlessly improved Mendoza to a full house to eliminate Demus in fifth place.

The flop fell J♣8♠5♣ and Song picked up a pair of jacks to extend his lead. The 6♣ on the turn also gave Song the best flush draw, leaving Zhang down to just two outs.

"King!" Zhang could be heard shouting. The river was the 2♥ which was not enough to keep Zhang's tournament hopes alive.

Song checked to Lin, who went all in on the A♣5♥4♠ flop. Song called to put her at risk and hands were turned face up.

Neither player had a pair, but Lin was ahead with her queen.

The A♠ turn was safe for Lin, but the 9♠ river paired Song to end Lin's run in heart-breaking fashion.

The 2♥ turn gave him additional outs to a flush, but the 8♣ river bricked out and the once chip leader was forced to settle for an eighth place finish.

Mendoza, on the other hand, has made an epic comeback after being on the brink of elimination and currently sits with 7,800,000.

Marius Gierse raised to 300,000 in the cutoff with K♠6♠ and Bin Leng three-bet shoved all in for 1,300,000 on the button. Martin Nielsen woke up with a premium in the big blind and reshoved all in for 1,600,000, forcing Gierse out of the hand.

It turned out to be a coin flip between the two short stacks but it was Leng who was at risk. The flop fell 9♥8♥2♠ and Nielsen remained out front with his pair of jacks. The 2♥ on the turn gave Leng the best flush draw but the J♦ on the river improved Nielsen to a full house.

Leng was eliminated in 10th place, leaving the final nine players to gather at the final table. They will be taking a 40-minute production break and players will have a chance to grab some dinner before the final table commences.
