Zhang Puts Gierse in the Blender
Level 18
: Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ivan Zhang raised to 60,000 in middle position and Marius Gierse reraised to 190,000 from the small blind. Zhang called and the dealer fanned the flop of J♥10♦6♣. Gierse started with a check and Zhang bet 225,000 which Gierse called.
The turn brought the J♠ and both players checked to the 9♠ on the river. Gierse led out with a bet of 200,000 and Zhang sighed, used a time bank, and then shoved all in for 765,000.
Now it was Gierse's turn to spend some time in the tank as he used up six time banks while a crowd gathered around the table. Gierse finally slid his cards to the muck and Zhang showed his 6♠5♠ while he scooped the pot.
