Almerli's Semi-Bluff Gets There

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Dan Almerli
Dan Almerli

Dan Almerli fired 2,200 into a multi-way pot on an {a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. Only the hijack called, and a {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. Almerli put his opponent all in for about 16,000, and she called it off after about 30 seconds of thought.

Almerli: {q-Spades}{3-Spades}
Hijack: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The player in the hijack had made the right read, but she wasn't rewarded when the {k-Spades} hit the river, completing Almerli's flush draw and giving him the nuts.

Players are on a 10-minute break.

Sell Bombs the Turn

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

A player in the big blind bet 1,800 on the {5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop, and Jason Sell raised to 4,800 from the button. The small blind cold-called, and the bettor called as well. A {q-Spades} hit the board, and the blinds quickly checked to Sell, who bet 10,000 this time. Both players quickly tossed the dealer their cards, and Sell, who finished fourth in an MSPT event last fall, has built a nice early stack.

Eddie Blumenthal made a boat with seven-five.
Eddie Blumenthal made a boat with seven-five.

Eddie Blumenthal shoved all in for 6,650, about the size of the pot, with the community having come {5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. His opponent appeared pained, putting his head in his hands, before making the call.

Blumenthal showed {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a turned boat, and he is back to about the starting stack.

Ahlers "Knew it Was Coming"

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

After a flop of {6-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, James Ahlers bet out from the small blind only to see the player under the gun shoved for 14,650. Ahlers made the call.

Ahlers: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Under the gun: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Ahlers needed to catch a spade, and he did so right away on the {9-Spades} turn, leaving his opponent dead.

"I knew it was coming, I just knew it was coming," Ahlers said as he dragged the pot.

Karakikov Drags Three-Way All In

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Pavlin Karakikov
Pavlin Karakikov

After a flop of {4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{a-Hearts}, action checked to Pavlin Karakikov in the cutoff, who bet 2,150. The button shipped all in for about 6,000, and Lance Harris popped it to 14,500 from the hijack. Karakikov shoved as well for about 18,000, and Harris called.

Karakikov: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Harris: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Button: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Everyone had flopped a monster, with Karakikov leading with a set while Harris had considerable outs with a combo draw. The button needed an ace to make an overfull to triple up. Running {q-Clubs} and {j-Clubs} gave Harris a worthless two pair, and Karakikov took the pot with his set.

Moscato's Top-Top Holds

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Two players checked to a player in middle position, who bet 2,300 on a {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Clubs} flop. Tony Moscato called in the cutoff, as did Geno Pingel in the small blind. Action checked to Moscato after the {8-Diamonds} turn, and he bet 2,000. Pingel called, while the third player folded. A {4-Hearts} completed the board, and Pingel and Moscato both checked.

Pingel showed {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for a missed draw, and Moscato had {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker on the flop.
