Bohn's Plans Swarted

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

MSPT Pro Blake Bohn and Bruce "Hammer" Swart just battled in the blinds and by the end, Swart had doubled up.

The action folded to Bohn, who limped the small blind. Swart made it 4,600. Bohn didn't take too much time to reraise all in and Swart snap-called.

Swart had {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Bohn had {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The board ran out {5-Clubs}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Swart doubled up.

Double Up Squeeze

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Brett Reichard just about doubled up without having to show his cards.

Tony Lazar opened to 2,600 and not one, not two, but three people called before the action fell to Reichard. He shoved all in for 17,900 and apparently claimed to not even have looked at his hand.

Lazar was the only player to think about his decision before folding and Reichard took down the pot.

"I don't even care what you had, I just want to know if you looked," said Lazar.

"I did, I did," said Reichard, "that was such a sweet spot. I doubled up."

Apparently Dueces Can Looses

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Joan Sandoval is continuing to build her chip stack up and is just under 40,000 after doubling up through Thomas Peebles.

Peebles raised preflop to 3,000 and Sandoval reraised all in for 17,200. Peebles reluctantly called and showed {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. When Sandoval turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}, Peebles sighed.

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{q-Spades}, giving Sandoval the double up.

Wild Bill Romer Eliminated

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

"Wild Bill" Romer is an MSPT regular and has just been eliminated. He was all in while two players saw the flop and played for a side pot.

The two players were checking it down and Geier showed {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for a pair on the {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} board. It was good enough to take down the pot and eliminate Romer.

Hook 'Em Hoerneman

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Tony Hoerneman just doubled through Aaron Johnson. Hoerneman raised preflop from the hijack to 2,000. Johnson reraised from the small blind to 12,000. Hoerneman called.

The flop was {q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Johnson bet 2,900. Hoerneman called, leaving just 5,900 behind. On the turn Johnson put Hoerneman all in with a bet after the {a-Diamonds} hit. Hoerneman called quickly and showed he made a straight with {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. Johnson showed {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} and when the river paired the board with the {10-Spades} it sealed the double up for Hoerneman.

Sandoval Wins Two In A Row

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Joan Sandoval was down to roughly 8,000 chips and has worked her stack back up to over 30,000. She just won two hands in a row:

  • On the first hand, a player limped from early position and Thomas Peebles made it 3,500. Jeff Hariu and Joan Sandoval called and the limper folded. On the {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop, the action folded to Sandoval who bet 4,000. Peebles and Hariu both folded.
  • On the next hand, Sandoval took down the pot on the flop with another 4,000 bet. This time the flop was {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} and her opponent folded. She showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

Kroon Slowly Rebuilding

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Mark Kroon topped out earlier at 125,000 and since then has fallen back a little. On this hands he gets a few chips from Leroy Dubray, after Dubray raised preflop.

Dubray opened for 3,500 from the button and Kroon called from the small blind. Kroon then checked in the dark. The dealer set out the {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop and Dubray checked as well.

Both players checked after they saw the {7-Diamonds} hit the turn. On the river Kroon shot out a bet of 3,300, which proved too much for Dunbray who folded.
