And Then A Hariu Comes Along

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
Jeff Hariu
Jeff Hariu

Jeff Hariu was looking at a board of {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades}. He had started the betting making it 1,000 to go. The next player to act reraised to 2,500 and Kirby Rogers shoved for 19,500.

Hariu called for 18,675 and the next player reshoved all in, which ended up being a call since Rogers had Hariu covered.

Rogers showed {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for an over pair and an open-ended straight flush draw. Hariu was sitting pretty with the nut flush {a-Spades}{6-Spades} and the third player had {k-Spades}{4-Spades} for the second-nut flush.

The turn was a black queen, but it was the {q-Clubs} and teased Rogers a little before the river came the {9-Clubs} and ended Rogers day. Hariu tripled up and is sitting at just under 50,000

A Good Flop, A Good Turn, A Great River

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante
  • Bruce "Hammer" Swart just took down a hand on the flop. A player in middle position raised to 500 and Mandy Caffee raised to 1,200. Hammer called from the small blind as did the original raiser.
"I'm terrified as to what your hand is," said Caffee in response to Hammer's call.
When the flop came {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Hammer bet 2,000, both the raiser and Caffee folded quickly.
  • Gary Herstein shoved over a bet of 3,875. Herstein's all in made it 15,125 to go on a board of {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts} and his opponent folded.
  • Vue Thao raised his opponent on the river to 11,000. His opponent led out for 5,000 after an ace hit the river. Thao raised to 11,000 and his opponent called. Thao showed {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and won the pot.

Lowery Doubles Through Reichert, Thiem Makes a Big Fold

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Duma Lowery shoved all in and Ross Reichert reshoved all in. The action was on Thao Thiem who ended up folding pocket queens {q-}{q-}.

When the two remaining players hands were revealed, Thiem had made a great laydown, since Lowery held {a-}{a-} and Reichert, {k-}{k-}.

A queen hit the flop, which would have given Thiem and pot and eliminated both Lowery and Reichert. However, Thiem folded so it left Lowery in a great spot to double up. The board run out kept Lowery ahead and Reichert took a big hit.

It Muntz Be Done, Game Set River

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
  • Nicholas Muntz shoved all in for 15,000 on a board reading {7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}. Gary Herstein, who had checked to Muntz debated his decision for about one minute before folding.
  • Cero Zuccarello was heads up for a side pot on a board reading {8-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. The third player was all in and could only watch. Zuccarello and his opponent checked the flop. The {4-Diamonds} came on the turn and Zuccarello bet 5,000. His opponent folded and left Zuccarello heads up with the all-in player. The all in player held {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and was looking to double up against the pocket sixes {6-Hearts}{6-Spades} of Zuccarello. However, the {6-Clubs} hit the river and sent the all-in player home. Zuccarello won the pot is now sitting at 34,600.

Bohn on Third Bullet, Dubray Gets One Through

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
  • MSPT Pro Blake Bohn began the day sitting in the same seat that he busted out of yesterday. That can't happen today, because Bohn busted again and is now on his third bullet.
  • Leroy Dubray, who also played yesterday was under 10,000 chips. He shoved his last 9,700 on a flop of {3-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and all his opponents folded. He added about 5,000 to his stack with that pot.
  • Todd "Odds" Hagan isn't off to the best start today, sitting with just 6,800 chips.
