Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Todd Breyfogle
Todd Breyfogle

Two Todds went to war at Table 26, but it was Todd Melander holding {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and crushing Todd Breyfogle's {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

"Not gonna use my one time," Breyfogle said. "On to the cash game."

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, and Melander collected Breyfogle's stack of about 20,000.

Belland Loses to Backdoor Straight

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Steve Belland
Steve Belland

Steve Belland opened for a raise and then call off the remainder of his stack of 15,000 or so after some thought with {q-}{q-}. His opponent had {k-}{k-}, but Belland found a third queen on the {q-}{10-}{4-} flop. Unfortunately for Belland, the turn and river brought {9-} and {j-}, giving his opponent a straight and leaving Belland in disbelief.

The board ran out {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and the jack kicker played.

Vang Loses Short Stack; Pupillo Busted

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Kou Vang
Kou Vang

Kou Vang shoved his last 6,575 from the button over a small blind bet of about 3,000 on a {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop. The small blind called with {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} and had the best hand for the moment against Vang's {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a monster draw. Two bricks fell ({3-Spades} and {6-Hearts}) though, and Vang hustled away from the table.

Nick Pupillo also busted out.

Reuther Flops Broadway

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Barry Reuther
Barry Reuther

We found Barry Reuther pushing 35,500 into the pot from the hijack against an opponent on the button who put in 12,000 on the {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. The player on the button called, and Reuther shipped his last 18,725 on the {2-Hearts} turn. His opponent called, and Reuther turned over the flopped nuts, {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. His opponent had top two with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}, and a {q-Hearts} river meant the straight remained best.
