"That Was a Pretty Good Runout"

Level 4 : 200/300, 300 ante
Aaron Massey in Day 1b action
Aaron Massey in Day 1b action

There was around 8,000 in the pot on the river with a board of {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Aaron Massey had a bet of 4,900 out in front of him from early position. Action was on the cutoff, who was thinking about his decision.

After over a minute, a call was announced. Massey quickly tabled {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs} to show a full house and began to take his bet back. His opponent had thrown a T5,000 chip in to call and Massey tossed him a T100 chip for change as he collected his newly-acquired chips.

"That was a pretty good runout!" said the player in the one-seat. Massey looked up and nodded slightly in approval.

The tournament clock displays a total of 207 entries and counting and a couple of Minnesota residents in Saad Ghanem and Ahmed Taleb were just seen walking into the tournament room and finding seats at their tables to get in on the action. Both Ghanem and Taleb fired yesterday as well and were unable to get through, but are back and ready to add to their previous MSPT success.

Ghanem recently took second place at MSPT Meskwaki just two weeks ago, earning $53,749 for his efforts, while Taleb can count himself among the list of MSPT champions, having won the 2017 MSPT Grand Falls Main Event for $54,089.

Gervais Wins on River

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Three players limped in from under the gun, middle position, and the hijack before Joshua Gervais pumped it up to 1,600. The first limper folded and the next two called, bringing a flop of {6-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. All three players checked.

The turn was {5-Clubs} and the middle-position player checked. The hijack made a bet of 2,100 and Gervais called before the player in middle position let his hand go.

The river came {7-Spades} and the hijack checked. Gervais put out a bet of 3,400, sending his opponent into the tank for over a minute. Eventually, he folded and Gervais took down the pot.

Keating Gets Value With Top Pair

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Action folded around to the player on the button and he threw in a raise to 500. The small blind called and Robert Keating came along as well from the big blind to take action three ways to a flop of {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Action checked to the player on the button, who made a continuation-bet of 1,000. The small blind folded and Keating called.

Both players checked the turn {6-Spades} and Keating fired out 1,000 on the river {3-Hearts}. His opponent thought for close to a minute and then tossed in a call.

Keating announced a pair of eights, showing {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}. His opponent paused for a moment and then sent his cards to the muck.
