Day 1c Started
Two flights down, two to go: It’s time for Day 1c of the 2020 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Golden Gates $360 Regional Event.
The third of four starting flights presents the next opportunity for players to earn their seat into Sunday’s Day 2. Wednesday’s Day 1a saw a massive 161 entries and Thursday’s Day 1b saw another 207 added to the tally, bringing the two-day total up to 368. This figure is up some 28% from the most recent edition of this tournament in November, 2019, where that number sat at 287 at this point in the tournament.
The $150,000 guaranteed prize pool is sure to be eclipsed today as another large field is expected to make their way up the mountain to the Golden Gates Casino and Poker Parlour in beautiful Black Hawk, Colorado. Players will once again receive 25,000 starting stacks with levels lasting 30 minutes all tournament long. There will be 15-minute breaks at the completion of every four levels with unlimited reentry available until the start of Level 13, and 15 levels are set to be played to their completion for the day unless 12% of the field remains before that happens.
As for the happenings on the first two days, Day 1a chip leader Luis Rosa (641,000) leads the way with Day 1b chip leader Abhinav Parakh (414,000) currently second in chips. Eight more players behind them finished with more than 300,000, with 41 players currently on the Day 2 roster.
Cards are in the air at noon and PokerNews will be on the floor covering all the action. Stay tuned to see who advances as the day unfolds.

There was around 1,200 in the middle on a flop of with three-way action that checked to Edward Ellson in the hijack. He bet 2,000 and was check-raised to 4,000 by Rickey Mosier in the small blind. The other player in the hand folded and Ellson made the call.
Action then went heads up to the turn and both players checked, bringing the river . Mosier took three T1,000 chips and put them down onto the felt, flicking them forward so that all three were individually visible. Ellson thought for a few moments and then put out a raise to 7,000. Mosier quickly sent his cards to the muck and the pot was shipped Ellson's way.

The small blind had a bet of 4,000 in front of him into a pot of over 6,000 with action on the flop. The board read and action was on Raleigh England in middle position.
"All in," said England. His opponent thought for about a minute and then announced a call.
Small Blind:
Raleigh England:
England's flopped trips were out in front of his opponent's queens up and was able to fade the two outer as the turn and river completed the runout.

Steve WIlkie was seen taking his seat at Table 13 shortly after the tournament began. However, it wasn't long before his first bullet ran dry.
"Pocket kings," said Wilkie on his way back to the registration desk. "Raise, reraise, and then I make it 5,000. Guy calls with ace-ten and the flop comes ten-ten-eight."
Wilkie did not get back in on the action immediately but has just sat down at Table 9 with a fresh stack of chips ready to get back to business.
